Hey guys, this is my first time ever posint a battle report. It also wont be too in depth, as i didn't right down the highlights.

But...i did get a few pictures.

Well on the field of battle outside of zundap, Warlord Snikik of Clan Sarz and his Seer Advisor and brother, Greylord Vasqueek were watching the scouts of the Man things heading back to their advisors. "dey has spotted us vasqueek, assemble da ratz, we willz strikes dem down today, and bring honor to the vermin lord."

So the battle field was set, the forces were laid out. This was my first 3000 point battle with my rats. I took everything i had assembled, and took to the field. Needless to say it wasn't going to be the most effective list, as i still lacked enough plague monks, and my slaves weren't yet assembled. So i went to the field no it was going to be a rough day. But i was preparred to give everything i got, and do as much damage as i could to the empire.

My list consisted of a warlord, greyseer, 2 engineers, a chieftan, and a plague priest as the heroes of the battle, and was backed up by rat ogres, 3 unitsof clan rats, jezzails, a warplighting cannon, a unit of stormvermin, a small unit of plague monks, plage censors, 2 units of globadiers, and 2 small units of night runners.

The empire player had 2 mortars, 2 sorcers, a geneal with his knights, a unit of pistoliers, a cannon, a battle standard, a unit of great swords, a unit of spear men and their detachements, a unit of halbadiers and their attachements, and flagellants. He also took the steam tank, a total shock, and i didn't know it's stats at all, other than the brief glimpse when it appeared in the white dwarf.

The first turn was most un eventful, i oved closer, shot what i could, and my magic ended early due to my first spell of warplighting mistcasting. The opponents first turn was more eventful, as he was casting some nice spells, that i was preventing from going off, and he charged with the steam tank...yeah....again i didn't know it could move 15". So my bad.

Next turn, i had to move closer, face the tank some more, and brough my censer bearers into combat with the tank(was hoping it would do good). A bright side is one of my ratlings guns did a glorious shooting...with 11 shots on the pistoliers...all but their unit champion died in a blaze of hot warplighting coated bullets. The other ratling gun got smited by a mortar shot the turn prior. Again my magic phase was a dud, first spell of warplightning again ended up with the same exact result of mistcast ending the phase early. Again the empire's phase was eventful and he charge my rat ogres with flagellants. Death to the big guys. His magic was ok, i think a spell got off, but his shooting didn't help at all...and the steam tank was on a rampage bouncing from one unit to the next instead of letting me destroy it. His mortars were also reaking havoc, as they took out half a unit of clan rats, landing on 22 of their little heads.
Ratogres take the flagellants
Versus the steamtank
The battle rages on

Well third turn saw more action, as my stormvermin were locked in combat with the great swords now, and doing damage. My magic phase wasn't that great since i had an engineer fleeing, and my spells were all dispelled now, at least it didn't end in a miscast. My shooting was great, but i didn't finish off the last pistolier, and took a few flagellants. And my warlord's unit got to charge, and get counter charged by mercenaries. At least this turn the ostermark player learned to fear the warlord, as he brought the smack down withthe blade of the black fury...nothing more surprising when you got 6 attacks at str 4 against t-3 troops, plus spear men.

The empire's 3rd turn was well..productive for him, his magic was more effective, his shooting was slowing, as he was losing targets cause they were either in combat or fleeing, and his assault were geared to finish stuff off, as he sent the steam tank into the flank of the stormvermin, on the side of my champion with the desolate blade, and a small unit of spear men into the warlords unit's other flank. My warlord's unit was completely surrounded on 3 sides..but his blade of black fury was enough, to kill off 6 more halbadiers, and the spearmen slaughter even more guys, he lost a total of 13 modles, and i lost 1, so a victory in combat, they fled, i pursued, and ran right into his battle standard beard and a mage(yeah for the rats). The steam tank made a mistake, and my chieftan in the unit smacked it for 9 hull points, and it was already down 11, so now it only had 5 points left, and my storm vermin removed some more greatswords, but they stayed.

My turn 4, with all the unis fleeing or destroyed, but my warp cannon, my stormvermin, and my warlords unit, i knew i was losing, but was going to take as much with me as possible. Magic phase was a dud, nothing happened, not even the bands of power, so on to melee. My chieftan started the round finishing the last 5 hull points on the steam tank....destroying the monstrosity for a moral victory on my part, and the unit was still locked into to combat with the stubborn great swords. My warlord smacked the battle standard, but only caused a wound, yet the unit took no damage, and they pursued the wizard and standard, but couldn't catch them, but instead caught the halbadiers .
The empires last turn, was also about as productive...he closed in on some other stuff, cast a spell on a fleeing unit, and shot what he could, his scout unit charged my wrp cannon but did nothing, and i finally killed enough of the great swords to make them break...and over ran them. My warlord's unit finished the halbadiers. And the game was over.
Out of 3000 points, i may have gotten 600 points of his force, and that was about what i had left, my army started to break and just wouldn't recover. It was brutal, but it was fun.

And i have included a few extra pics, a close up of my unit of clan rats, and my grey seer, and a corner shot of the cannon.

Greylord Vasqueek, eh?
Sounds like a Vasquisk admirer to me! (But then, everybody sounds like a Vasquisk admirer to me. Even those people who scream "I HATE YOU VASQUISK!" and throw sharp pointy objects at me).

hehehe...actually i had that since septembet last year, was going to an RTT, and needed to name my units for better points, so i came up with vasqueek(va+squeek)..do not really an admire of Vasquisk. But they are very similar, most skaven names are similar.

Nice pics, did the empire wizards have some nasty item to help shut down your magic phase?

Yeah, empire wizards do..but the guy i was playing against...has gotten to the point where he only takes wizards with max dispell scrolls. He likes to shut down the magic phases, and doesn't really care much about his either.
Didn't know that about the cannon, must have over looked that. Now i know...course it didn't matter much anyways, as it was about all that was left on my side of the board for him to charge.

Glad you guys like the pics. My camera takes it's best pics at stores..at home..the pics suck. And everyone says i got some nicely painted rats, yet....they are actually pretty simple paint schemes for the basic ones that is.
