there are some rules for them, they were in a magazine (not the white dwarf,...) but if you want to use them you need your opponents approval |

Well, i know that you can get the link to the journal article through the GW site. And it is worth it, the vermin lord is possible one of the best greater daemons. |

Go forth my brethren, that we shall nibble at the roots of the old world! We are the rats in the shadows. We hold the blades of corruption, aimed at the very heart of the Old World. We are The Council of Thirteen. Second place in the UnderEmpire painting competition! | |

i've got a Verminlord - loads of fun, but as you all say, it is overkill. I only take it in special scenarios where it needs to be summoned by a Grey Seer; as soon as it is summoned, it replaces the Seer. But,my word, they are hard as nails! I still reckon they're the best all round Greater Daemon (and that's saying something!) |

The Verminlord isn't a large target is he? I haven't checked the online version of his rules...but it doesn't say anything about being a large target in my citadel journal...thats why I've thought about screening him with rat ogres

a.k.a. I-D-I-O-T (Dark Lords of the Overempire)
|
I don't think he did count as a large target in the online rules... but I think that that's more due to GW forgetting to put it in... To screen him with rat ogres he'd have to be crawling along on the ground on all fours... |

Actually he is about the same size as a rat ogre...pretty much just his horns and glaive stick out when you put him behind. In fact I've seen people use the verminlord body and legs in rat ogre conversions

Try him in battle... lol, you will gain respect then! Did about two battles with him in the RH-time (after that my lovely creature was banned from the group) and it's a kicker! Everything in its path died... once in a 2k battle my opponent threw everything he had against it and at the end, my vermin lord was 18 points short of winning himself back (all the battle in combat ).Greetz |
