Ok - This topic exists for what I'm going to call "challenges." What are challenges? We've all seen them before. They're riddles; brain teasers, or logic problems. They can be math oriented, or simply based on etymology. Pretty much anything that requires one to analyze can be posted here. I know that they can be frustrating, but I also know that many people enjoy them from time to time despite the frustration. So what is the prurpose of this specific thread? This is where people can post challenges for others to try and solve. Only post the questions in here. Anyone who wishes to solve the challenge should PM the original poster to see if their answer is correct. Avoid posting the answers here so others can still enjoy the challenge. Posts containing answers will be edited. And that's about it. If we end up needing more clarification I'll edit this post later. This topic is pinned so new members can come in see all the challenges we've got posted through one simply topic. |

lol I'll take this to good use when I'm having trouble on my math once school starts. But hey, I'm taking the same class I did last year(last year I was like superadvanced, this year I'm only slightly advanced, so no I'm not an idiot) so it won't be much of a problem uhh *rubix cube* |

oh. hmm sorry. I'm doing Algebra 1 again in 8th grade. I did it last year but it was too much . It's still advanced for 8th though, most kids do Algebra 1A in 8th grade. Jolly has to do 8th grade geometry at 7:30 AM XD. Two years ahead of schedule. Good for him. I think I'm gonna be in class with Wingman though. |

Chess puzzle Look at this board: ![]() Black threatens checkmating White by putting his Queen or one of the Rooks on 1st file. However it's White's turn now and not only they can avoid losing, they can actually win the game. Your task is: find a way for White to checkmate Black's king. It can be achieved in at most 4 moves. |

Actually this one is a quite popular chess problem, it's a well known situation. Similar situations happen both in proffesional games and between amateurs. The exact board position in this one comes from one of tutorials in Chessmaster 9000, but you can find a smiliar one in almost every chess book. |

But isn't that plagiarism because you admit to finding it on a video game and the people that made that game probably didn't want you going around taking pictures of it and showing it as your own. |

Do you think anyone's going to cheat by buying chess tools and books so they won't have to do this stupid challenge. No because I'll happily tell any one who want to know the answer to this problem but I'm not going to post it here because I don't want to be chewed out. I know you will. |
