| Welcome to The TV Shelter. We are sorry to say that as of the 8th April 2014, The TV Shelter will no longer be open to new posts, threads or members. Like that famous Monty Python sketch, this forum has joined the choir invisible. However this will continue to remain as an archive so that visitors can mindlessly plunder through old threads to look at PIFs, TV listings and other miscellanea that made this place truly unique. And if you still can't get your fix of TV nostalgia visit Facebook's TV Heaven or even TV Ark, the website that spawned the original forums. And finally a long standing has made a successor to the TV Shelter, which to a few is reminiscent of when an ITV franchise would change to another. The forum is called The TV Lounge and should keep the spirit running that it's predecessors carried. We hope you enjoy your visit. |

There is a new teatime show that is hosted by Chris Tarrant called "The Great Pretender" which is on ITV1. I haven't seen the programme myself but what do all of you think of it? |

to get the post up and running, i'll be the first to comment i have heard of this show (obviously Tarrant needs the money, i mean what's happened to Millionaire?) and it is rather indulging but i much rather they wouldn't spend so much on such chat between the contestants (maybe it's part of the game, so i therefore cannot complain, but seriously it is extremely tedious). another thing i have noticed is whenever they is an elmination, the contestants have often voted for each other and they all stay in. a further thing is the stupidity of the contestants. for example, one person didn't know "Some Enchanted Evening" came from S. Pacific and that the Royal Liver Building is in Liverpool (even i knew that, it's a major attraction!) the quiz only lasts for half an hour/40 mins depending on the team's performance with less time figuring out who is the great pretender either way (which is another time waster, we shouldn't see deciding their verdict) the thing i realised about this is a) you have skip on questions so the team don't instantly think you are on a roll (they have been in my opinion very nasty and malicious) what other peoples' correct answers c) give a convincing lie and be prepared to shift the pretender onto someone so the team have been fooledi have seen four failures and two successives when the great pretender got away with the money. |
