| Welcome to The TV Shelter. We are sorry to say that as of the 8th April 2014, The TV Shelter will no longer be open to new posts, threads or members. Like that famous Monty Python sketch, this forum has joined the choir invisible. However this will continue to remain as an archive so that visitors can mindlessly plunder through old threads to look at PIFs, TV listings and other miscellanea that made this place truly unique. And if you still can't get your fix of TV nostalgia visit Facebook's TV Heaven or even TV Ark, the website that spawned the original forums. And finally a long standing has made a successor to the TV Shelter, which to a few is reminiscent of when an ITV franchise would change to another. The forum is called The TV Lounge and should keep the spirit running that it's predecessors carried. We hope you enjoy your visit. |

where is this new US import ITV bought a while back (i've forgotten the name) going to fit in on the schedule? mid-afternoon weekdays needs a "desperate" revamp. how many episodes of Midsummer Murders can they show, before they run out? it's so obvious that the village will be wiped out then they won't be any murders or any residents, i just cannot stand it AT ALL! it's just merely switching between Heartbeat, Poirot and as above. plus, should he also be wise to bring back CITV? i mean it's wasted space. axe that Alan Partridge show, Loose Woman and seriously Jeremy Kyle (recently i read an article in the Sunday Mail about the infamous headbutt that actually happened on the show but was never screened. a lawyer from Manchester Crown Court critised the show for provoking and encouraging the attack, but i think some of us are aware of that now) i definitely agree with Corrie overkill in the article to let go with the unneccessary 8.30 pm Monday show. four nights are enough! i would also pull Emmerdale down from 6 to 3. when they rely on soaps to bring in their hits as opposed to making fresh material, they are in a bad shape |

The changes I like to see on ITV1 is: Coronation Street on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Emmerdale Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. They can alternate in the 7pm slot (Except Saturdays) so they can have more decent shows on the 7:30pm slot. Axe Jeremy Kyle and put morning quizzes back on Axe the current idents as some have small logo's and some have larger logo's Put more gameshows on Reinstate CITV (I thought OFCOM rejected the idea of it being axed from weekdays anyway) and mostly STOP copying other shows from other broadcasters (Example Antony Cotton or any other talkshow copying Paul O'Grady) |

I hope this is complete make-over, like he did with BBC1 in 1985. Whittle down the soaps, much more comedy, more quizzes without celebrities or with a reality/twist aspect and re-introduced more light entertainment shows. And put together a decent night time service, even if its a mix of old films and daytime repeats. |

Bah it sounds like ITV are having another revamp again. While this may sound good to others it may be a turn for the worse to those that prefer the old nostalgic Channel 3. Seeing as they've axed CITV, lampooned other shows and cutting back on regional newsrooms, I've lost touch in the channel nowadays. I don't need TV to survive anymore these days, if you want me I'll be next to the PC doing some drawings. Just a thought.

now that's sensible thinking, gareth. now i knew i should have mentioned more gameshows without celebrity interference but Daniel89 has a point, they have changed that ITV1 logo four times already in the last five years, don't tell he intends to change it again alongside the revamp! |
