Welcome to The TV Shelter.

We are sorry to say that as of the 8th April 2014, The TV Shelter will no longer be open to new posts, threads or members. Like that famous Monty Python sketch, this forum has joined the choir invisible.

However this will continue to remain as an archive so that visitors can mindlessly plunder through old threads to look at PIFs, TV listings and other miscellanea that made this place truly unique.

And if you still can't get your fix of TV nostalgia visit Facebook's TV Heaven or even TV Ark, the website that spawned the original forums.

And finally a long standing has made a successor to the TV Shelter, which to a few is reminiscent of when an ITV franchise would change to another. The forum is called The TV Lounge and should keep the spirit running that it's predecessors carried.

We hope you enjoy your visit.

That's the best name for a TV channel ever. I think this could be a trend...

What a load of bollocks and I still refer to the channel as UK Gold 2. The "tounger male audience" sound sobscure to me. I mainly watch the channel because of Top Gear and Red Dwarf. Still I can shout to my friend and say "Guess what Dave, you're on television!"

I think this may be the most moronic thing I have ever heard. Almost.

Bizarre, that's all I can say! Adapting a tiny bit of rappore between Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson from "Bottom Live 4 : An A*** Odyssey".....

What's the channel's name?

What a PATHETIC idea! Who came up with that?!

Goes to show how lazy TV stations and advertising agencies are these days!

WHAT? DAVE? Have UKTV gone out of their little nut sized minds. Well I think they've been like that since 2000 anyway  . What's the point of UKTV Gold now when everything they show(except for Harry Enfield & "The Lenny Henry Show") is on DVD?
In my opinion I would change to Paramount Comedy 2, they've been not bad for UK comdey recently.

I bet if Only Fools and Horses were to broadcast on that channel. The tag-line would be "Entertainment 24 hours a day...... but not at night!".

I've been calling it UK TV Yellowy-colour, ever since they changed the name first time round. Most of the stuff they show is not even 6 months old!! I didn't watch Eastenders for a reason, so I don't wanna see it again two weeks later on satellite. Long gone are the days of Top of Pops, Miami Vice (It's on ITV 2 now, which is a bloody good channel at the mo.) and Spitting Image (also intermittantly shown on ITV 2)

I knew it's time was up, when someone posted an email on the old forum from the channel about it's "...move away from archive programming..." Seems like it hasn't worked if they have to change the darn name every couple of years.

as far as i know, Dave will begin on Monday for definite and UKG2 display below their logo to celebrate the passing days until the celebration of the "ridiculous" and frankly pointless name change will improve things for the better.

..........only time will tell how long it lasts under it's new fashionable disguise!
