Welcome to The TV Shelter.

We are sorry to say that as of the 8th April 2014, The TV Shelter will no longer be open to new posts, threads or members. Like that famous Monty Python sketch, this forum has joined the choir invisible.

However this will continue to remain as an archive so that visitors can mindlessly plunder through old threads to look at PIFs, TV listings and other miscellanea that made this place truly unique.

And if you still can't get your fix of TV nostalgia visit Facebook's TV Heaven or even TV Ark, the website that spawned the original forums.

And finally a long standing has made a successor to the TV Shelter, which to a few is reminiscent of when an ITV franchise would change to another. The forum is called The TV Lounge and should keep the spirit running that it's predecessors carried.

We hope you enjoy your visit.

What tv shows or cartoons do you still watch that you know you too old to be watching them, if that makes any sense at all.

I'll admit i still watch a little bit of Thomas the tank engine & sonic the hedgehog episodes :ph43r:

I watch various cartoons on Boomerang such as Tom and Jerry and Looney Toons (well their for all ages really) but recently stopped watching Nickelodeon programmes as they are immature and I also watched Clifford the Big Red Dog on CBeebies during 2002 which would have made me 13 at the time.

I still watch "Ren & Stimpy", but from my memory it had quite a strong adult theme.

Early Gerry Anderson shows such as Twizzle, Torchy the Battery Boy and Four Feather Falls. I know they're for kids but I think they're great! :D

Brilliant thread. Back then when I were a child progressing onto teens I liked watching animated programmes and it had to take some time for me to ditch watching the kiddies channels.

Of course I still couldn't resist wathcing Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, Dennis and Gnasher, Sonic the Hedgehog and of course my favourite Thomas the Tank Engine!

CKY you'd may like to know that I was a big TTTE fan back then and I had several comics and goodies and I even had Thomas, James and the Fat Controller painted on my walls in my early days.

In the same vein as Picasso, even though I'm now 42 years old, I still love watching the Gerry Anderson puppet shows, and I'm rather inclined to get the two Network DVD's of "Pipkins".

I've got the Pipkins DVDs and they are fantastic! I can definitely recommend them. I've also got the complete Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick Green on DVD, plus The complete Bagpuss and Clangers sets plus a few Rainbow DVDs. I'm nearly 36 but I still watch them. Mrs Asparagus calls me sad but I don't care. By the way, my daughter is now almost a year old and we discovered Baby TV today. We loved it!
