Welcome to The TV Shelter.

We are sorry to say that as of the 8th April 2014, The TV Shelter will no longer be open to new posts, threads or members. Like that famous Monty Python sketch, this forum has joined the choir invisible.

However this will continue to remain as an archive so that visitors can mindlessly plunder through old threads to look at PIFs, TV listings and other miscellanea that made this place truly unique.

And if you still can't get your fix of TV nostalgia visit Facebook's TV Heaven or even TV Ark, the website that spawned the original forums.

And finally a long standing has made a successor to the TV Shelter, which to a few is reminiscent of when an ITV franchise would change to another. The forum is called The TV Lounge and should keep the spirit running that it's predecessors carried.

We hope you enjoy your visit.

For now! remember Michael Grade axed Doctor Who (One Doc Who fans won't want to remember in late 80's) so won't be stocked to see Pocoyo taken off in the coming year.
Get the Goons with the Fruit! From the 1979 film Roller Boogie

garethwilliams, do you know when the last episode aired? (i was trying to look for it in the schedules, but nothing was noted, just a removal)

about Dr Who, it was forced to make a comeback the following year with Sly McCoy and then it was axed two years later....... (we all should know that)

It's about the change the definition petition right? I can see why McDonalds are fighting over the meaning of the word McJob but you can't really help notice that nearly every restaurant I visit is flooded with Poles and foreigners at the tills, just something to point out.

my home town, Kirkcaldy has a fairly large population of Poles who moved to the area after the WWII, this has also recently pushed even more over when they joined the EU, three years ago, including some Romanians and Czech (but for the sake of people's personal opinions, i would rather not get involved with the controversy of this)

i can understand your point, daniel89, (London Borough of) Bromley would cater for a lot of these people in these low-paid menial jobs like many other similiar areas and many other cities. many people critise why they should be here and because of severe overcrowding in several parts of England, feel it won't be long until the services are strained.

people often underestimate how big Poland actually is, it is currently 38 million and the biggest country in Eastern Europe, but it has severe problems with manual labour shortages as well as an infamous government where the PM and President's jobs are held by a pair of twins, which is known to be very corrupt. many people also do not understand these problems nor want to be involved with the whole former Iron curtain surrounding these countries-giving them a bad name, which is why they are often disliked. apparently Michael Palin, has been to these countries recently and starts his new series on Sunday to show the problems they have suffered.

anyway back to the topic.
