http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33479158/ns/technology_and_science-tech_and_gadgets/ I'm not so happy from that. Previously, when we had URL address in latin letters, we were aware (more or less of course) about what given domain is. Now, we won't be sure. Also, I'm wondering about internet security, that might open new doors to hackers, who would try to use foreign domains for phishing &c purposes. With only latin URLs we might notice, if something could be wrong, if we are commonly browsing foreign domains, we have no chance to notice that, especially, if URLs could include kanji or other very complicated characters. Last thing worth to mention is, how our browser will react, if will find characters it don't know. Not every user has installed all fonts, because of this that use might be unable to access certain domains, because address bar will show weird characters instead of right ones. |

Non-Latin characters in URLs? WTF, this can surely kill some computers and browsers. I wonder how this would work like and how this all would be stable, etc... Imagine a URL containing: That could be so wierd. Yet i'm eager to see a site that uses these Non-Latin characters as the domain address. |

Yeah, I just remembered C+P. How could I forget? I use it every day for school ![]() Just kidding. In truth though, it's still possible to type that in using c+p, etc. but this makes it unneccessarily harder. Edited by Saber-kun, Oct 29 2009, 02:26 PM.
