The latest scans from Coro Coro reveal another aspect of the game; battles. It seems like it's definitely staying to the same old 2D battle system from Battle Network. It seems like SSMegaman will be playable as will Megaman EXE. They get different abilities which seems like an exciting new element to me. Spoiler: click to toggle I'm hoping that the sprites will be in the same format as BN sprites. That way you can use the SSMegaman sprite in any BN game via hacking! Awesome, right? |

Yeah. THIS I must have. Although It'll be hard porting a DS Sprite permanently to a BN game. I had to take Ssx9's ROM because I couldn't add the sprite into HxD right.. Closest progress was a shadow.... Oh wait, closest was a Yellow Megaman. |

Like I said, assuming the format is the same, it is possible. BN5DS's sprites were just the GBA sprites and they could be ported. I'll let people know when the game comes out. |

Very, very interesting, although it's quite odd how CoroCoro is quite vauge on what special abilities Rockman.EXE gets. Then again, if those people at Protodude's blog are correct, this issue is mostly focusing on Subaru's abilities with Rockman.EXE's abilities being covered in next month's issue. Massive amounts of speculation ahead: I know some people are already thinking that Subaru's lock-on ability is going to be so broken that it'll smash the game to bits, and that no one will play as Rockman.EXE. Not quite. Really, if they are covering Rockman.EXE's abilities next month instead of like right now, I'm expecting something major enough to help offset with Subaru gets. We haven't seen anything regarding Rockman.EXE's abilities as well outside of a few details that we can pick through that one leaked battle screen about two weeks ago. That screen had a mysterious 6th battlechip slot right above the OK button, and we still don't know what it does. There might be changes to the original armor/style system. And somehow, I see the Navi Customizer being in this game even though it was not present in the original. Also, there's the possiblity that the custom screen for Subaru might act a bit differently. Then again, the chances of this happening are quite low though. I guess we'll figure some more stuff out once TGS rolls around, or heck, if a trailer is released before then (which is looking unlikely at this point, I think Capcom's just going to wait until TGS before releasing a trailer considering that it's only like 2 weeks away). Right now, I'd be willing to bet that Rockman.EXE's exclusive abilities are going to promote strategy and set-up, while Subaru's abilities are likely to make him more of a straightforward 'jump in front of the target with a sword and slice its head off' fighter. This has so much potential... I hope Capcom doesn't screw this up. |

Him being able to lock is kinda broken.... Better have a different battle system in regards to selecting chips/cards. EXE2/3 battle system is also rigged if it uses EXE1 chips.... |
