  Pokémon Heart Gold & Soul Silver First of all I have to say that everything written down here is just what the official pokemon special page about Heart Gold and Soul Silver already confirmed. I will not update anything if there are scans from Corocoro or gameplay vids from Pokémon Sunday. Nintendo announced 2 "brand new" Pokémon games which will be the remakes of the 2nd Generation (Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal). This remake will be more than that. Nintendo said there will be some extras and other stuff in there. As we can see from Fire Red and Leaf Green a "remake" isn't just a remake itsself. It's way more that. Well... These words as far from me. Now for more information about the game itsself. Main information: Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver take part in the Jotho region. The Jotho region is directly connected with the Kanto region. Jotho has a total of 10 visitable cities and 18 routes. Nintendo confirmed the Realease Date of Heart Gold and Soul Silver to 12th Septembre. Characters: Like in every Pokémon game since Pokémon Chrystal there's a male hero and a female hero. There also is a rival (of course ) and a pokemon professor who gives the hero his/her first pokemon in his lab. The professor in Jotho is called Elm and he has his lab in New Bark Town, the hometown of the hero. Heroes (where has my beautyful blue-haired Kris gone? T.T):  Hero (male) and Hero (female) talking about something:  Rival:  Battle against rival:  Prof. Elm:  Elm in his lab talking with the hero:  Team Rocket:  Team Rocket in Slowpoke Well:  More to come... Pokémon: The starter Pokémon in Heart Gold and Soul Silver are the same like in Gold/Silver/Chrystal: Chicorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile. One of these Pokémon the hero can choose in Elm's lab. The rival chooses the pokemon which is type-stronger* than the pokemon the hero chooses. *type-stronger: Hero chooses Leaf Pokémon, Rival chooses Fire Pokémon. Chicorita:   Cyndaquil:   Totodile:   Choose one of these... picture (xD):   Starter pokémon next to trainer:   It is comfirmed that each of the 493 pokémon is able to follow the trainer. It has some options which can be called mini-games IMO. As far as I know it has some mini-battle function, some kart racing and a "leveling by step" in it. Somehow you can train pokémon by using the pokéwalker. Maybe it saves how many steps you did and it will be used as EXP for the pokémon on the walker. The most important thing to say is: You can connect the pokéwalker with the Nintendo DS/Nintendo DSi to transfer a Pokémon onto the Pokéwalker. Generation: Mesprit, Uxie, Azelf So. This is the 2. Generation and the legendary trio contains.... Entei, Raikou and Suicune!  So far Nintendo released one picture of fighting one dog. It's Entei:  Red Gyarados Yay! The red Gyarados is back! Here are 2 pictures of Nintendo which shows that the red gyarados is still in the game:   Pokécom/Pokégear is back! I don't have much to say here because I don't know much xD Here are screens by Nintendo but I don't get what some actions do. Just look at the map design! It's awesome! And so different from the map layouts before!           Here some other menu's. The normal menu is completly new designed on the touch screen so no more need of pressing a button. It also looks like you can select an item on Y and on X.   And the new item finder:   Also all gyms look updated. Wow! This Pokemon games looks amazing! It kinda remind me to the old Gold/Silver or the hacker-made Shiny Gold! When will the English version be possible?? |

I don't know, maybe next year in summer. Maybe earlier. We just can hope =) Zel's Shiny Gold is nice but not perfect. If he would have add more Jotho music and better Jotho music like the guys did in Liquid Crystal it would be way better. Well back to topic. This game will be much better than just a ROM hack of a Firered xD From the things already published we can see that it will be way better than the last remake (Fire Red and Leaf Green). Well... Hard to compare both since FR and LG are GBA and not DS. Anyway. Above post has been edited. |

My attention has been grabbed. Sure it,s easy for that to happen, but Pokemon Silver was my favorite Pokemon game of all time. Even if it wasn't, I have an obligation both as a general Pokemon fan and Nintendo fan to buy it. Still, as long as they don't stray too far from the original game, I have no argument. *cough* Red Gyrados *cough* |

NEW UPDATE Jotho map was confirmed that it is fanmade so it was removed. Nintendo realeased the Realease Date of Heart Gold and Soul Silver. It's 12th Septembre.[/cyan] Edited by Kris, Jun 26 2009, 12:16 AM.
