[box=DSi] [/box]Via Endgadget: "As expected, Nintendo has announced the new DSi at its Fall presentation in Japan. The device features a dual touchscreen layout almost identical to the DS Lite, though the company is calling it a "third platform," which means it's complementing the existing system, not necessarily replacing it. Looks-wise there's not much different happening, but it's some 12 percent thinner -- partly because it omits the GBA cartridge slot. The displays are slightly larger, at 3.25 inches apiece, and there's an external three megapixel camera as well as a front-facing camera located on the inside hinge. The DSi has an SD slot and internal storage -- we're not sure how much at the moment -- but photos can be taken directly to the Wii Photo Channel on the card. Nintendo's also launching an online "DSi Shop," which will sell content directly over WiFi, including a free browser app and "DS Ware" game -- and the company will offer free wireless connectivity at "Nintendo Zone" hotspots located in Japanese McDonalds. The shop will take the newly-renamed Nintendo Points (formerly Wii Points), 1000 of which will come free with the handheld until March 2010, and content will be priced in 200 / 500 / 800 point brackets. The DSi will come in white or black finishes, and will cost ¥18,900 ($178) when it launches in Japan on November 1st -- the rest of us will have to wait until next year." |

It's looks crappy awesome! I like it, and it's kinda good, and a little bad, I'm not a choosy type of person when it comes to options. And it improve a little and new stylus or still the one used in Nintendo DS? |

The stylus looks like the same old one but it may have been scaled down. I bet nintendo is going to make a DS with a phone/Mp3/video recorder/infra red all in one at this rate! |

I couldn't see it, but since I don't have wi-fi and I still play gba on my DS(think about pal park in D/P), I'm probably not going to get it. Definetly. |

I read about it in the newspaper. According to it, it will play MP3s and Videos. I think it's too much for a portable console. And for music and videos, you can use a M4 or that sort of things. I won't get it because I'm not interested in it (and can't spend that lot of money). I will use emulators as I always have done. In my case, for Music I have a Computer and a MP3 player. For photos I have a Camera and a Cellphone. |

My camera's mp3 player and camera suck. So i'm going to get this cause my digicam also broke... and I need a new DS. but i'll keep the old one for my flashcarts, cause i know the DSi will be haxored and i will be there.

It's a DS with new bells and whistles. Just too similar to the previous one to pass it as new. Too bad it has an SD card slot. Such an awesome-looking system will be transformed into some homebrew hacked crap. The screen resolution is probably only 8 pixels bigger on both all sides. Nothing very useful coming out of there. But since it will serve as an MP3 player, I can finally play music portably! Still too soon for me, though. |

 A VERY CHEAP Knock off of the Wii! It has a Nintendo DSi Shopping Channel. The points get renamed Nintendo Points! It has on board storage like Wii. Should this be in news? Just a suggestion! Nintendo has announced a new incarnation of the Nintendo DS, the DSi. Much more of a step forward than the DS Lite was to the regular DS, this new console will be a very nice stepping stone, as it will be compatible with current DS titles. Slated for release November 1st for $180 in Japan. Missing however is the GBA slot. Here's what I've been able to scavenge from various internet websites on the DSi. - Thinner, lighter than the Nintendo DS Lite with bigger screens - No Game Boy Advance slot - 300.000 pixel camara - SD memory card slot - Speakers larger and have improved sound quality - AAC audio player - Still only one touchscreen - On-board memory storage - Downloadable software (DS Ware) via Nintendo DSi Shop. Wii Points renamed to Nintendo Points. Software price brackets will be Free/200/500/800 points. - Web browser (downloadable from DS Ware store) - Will release in Japan November 1 for 18900 yen (about $180), two colors: White and flat black. - LCD screen size : 3.25 inches - LCD screens : active TFT color LCD (260.000 colors) - Hardware size : L (137mm), H (74.9mm), W (18.9mm) (stylus length : ~92mm) - Power source : Nintendo DSi AC Adaptor, battery pack - Weight : ~214g (including the battery pack and stylus) - Battery charging time : ~2.5 hours - Battery charge length : lowest brightness : ~9-14 hours low brightness : ~8-12 hours medium brightness : ~6-9 hours high brightness : ~4-6 hours highest brightness : ~3-4 hours - Playable titles : Nintendo DS software, Nintendo DSi software - Inputs : DS card slot, SD memory card slot, AC adaptor port, stereo headphone/microphone port |

you cant play GBA games on it and like dark boy said it is a cheap knock off of the wii So why do you like it besides it looking cool?
