Well, it's that time again, people! The new Hacked Battle Contest for 4/18/08 - 5/03/08 has begun. The demonstration video is here, so this is sort of what is expected. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVBslxfL6es Let me go over some round rules. Just like last time, you must upload your video when the contest time is over. You are allowed to use a fanmade patch. You cannot state your motive for that battle using WMM. Really, the only text you add is a notice saying that this will be for the contest. No more. Now here is what is expected from you, as the contributor. You will create a challenge for yourself using the L Message hack tutorial to state your purpose in battle. There are several ways to do this, so be creative. Here are your resources: -Hacking L Message -Hacked Battle Tutorial (for starters) -Direct Enemy Modifying(in case you want to change HP values or attacks) As I mentioned in the video, the cheats to accomplish that will be posted here. For the Time Limit, try these cheats: Net Battle Style (no running away value for Faltzer) 720348DC 001F 820348BC 5E64 3-Turn Match * 72034886 035C 82034886 1063 Custom Gauge Speed 320352A2 00XX Custom Screen Auto Opens * 720348B2 0003 320348B2 0013 If fail, delete * 7203488A 0101 8203A9D4 0000 The cheats marked with an * are cheats you must use if you plan on doing this. I'll answer some questions people may have about these. Net Battle Style cheat has the value for Faltzer only. Normally, you can play in Net Battle Mode, but you can run away. For 3-Turn Match, the first value of the cheat might vary, so plug in the address into the memory viewer to find the exact value the cheat might be looking for. The values for Custom Gauge speed can be whatever you want. The value I used in the video was C0, which is too fast. Plug in the address into the memory viewer and you can pick the value that seems decent to you. Just remember that you must balance your chip time and buster time. The rest are self-explanatory. The Custom Screen must auto-open, or there is no point to it. And if you don't make it in time, you get deleted, simple as that. You can also do a challenge where you have to defeat the first enemy, and the rest are just taking up space. The point of having more enemies is that they can't die, so make their HP really high. If first enemy dies, second dies 7203AAAC 0000 8203AB84 0000 If first enemy dies, third dies 7203AAAC 0000 8203AC5C 0000 If first enemy dies, fourth dies 7203AAAC 0000 8203AD34 0000 Use the ones that apply. 9999 HP for the "bodyguards" is recommended for extra challenge. Obviously, use the cheats that apply. Hopefully that's enough to get you guys started. This might take more time than you're used to, but remember, the harder it is to make, the better it is. Ask any questions you may have now. I may have forgotten to explain something because my computer is REALLY slow right now. I wish all participants good luck!

I think I will join this contest this time. We have to upload videos till May the 5th, right? So I'll think about something. n your demonstration you got dleted but won. That's not the way we shall choose, right? Edit: 3 turn battle code doesn't work for me. |

Well in the demonstration, I said you must cut that part, so you must win so it will never happen. See, I thought ahead instead of having people questions, "What happens if the time runs out?" The 3-turn battle code must be searching for the wrong value. Check the address of that cheat in the memory viewer to correct the last half of the value. Or it could be that you don't have Net Battle Mode on. I guess I must find working values for all versions if Faltzer isn't the only version being used. |

I'll make it easier on everyone. Here are the extra cheats for the "bodyguards" you may use on the second type of challenge. Push Select for 9999 HP on 2-4 enemies D0000020 0004 8203AAAC 270F D0000020 0004 8203AB84 270F D0000020 0004 8203AC5C 270F D0000020 0004 8203AD34 270F HPs of enemies 2-4 are off screen 8203EB68 9999 8203EB7C 9999 8203EB80 9999 Now it will be more like those Slashman "shadow clones" I demonstrated in one of my previous videos. Only the main target will show HP. Also, if anyone will be using Grega version for the 3 turns, let me know so I can get you the value for it to work. Please, continue to ask questions. You have plenty of time to finish the event you will set up. |
