AD 2217: The countries of the world are once again at war…in the year 2170 most of the world’s natural fossil fuels dwindled to nearly nothing. This set the entire world economy into a horrible depression, with gas prices sky rocketing. Soon the Fuel Wars began lasting for 17 years ravaging what was left of middle Eastern nations, to prevent further war and destruction the Earth Allied Nations (formerly the UN) set up sanctions on the oil imports and exports to equally distrubte the last of the resources. However, this did not stop the deterioration of the Middle Eastern nations who still warred with one another. In the year 2197 the first “orbital elevator” was completed this elevator extending passed the upper atmosphere gathered solar energy which sent back to power stations was used for energy supplies. Being built in South America the first elevator guaranteed power for the American nations, 10 years later the second elevator was completed in the Pacific ocean near Russia a third soon went under construction to be built in Africa. Due to the location of the two completed elevators the Americas, Russia and Asian nations had much more benefits than the European nations. Feeling this was going against the Equal Energy Act the European Union threatened to withdraw from the Earth Alliance if their demands for more energy supplies were not met. Unwilling to fold to these demands the U.S. and Russia did the same thus the Earth Allied Nations and the UN disbanded. The United States along with the rest of the Americas and Japan formed the Unified Nations of Economic Stability or simply the Union, the European Union became the Advanced European Union (AEU) and Russia with the remaining Asian Nations (excluding middle eastern nations who were still at war) became the Human Reform League (HRL). In the year 2212 as the AUE’s orbital elevator was soon to be complete the HRL launched an attack to claim the final orbital elevator, and yet the Orbital Wars began, due to the lack of natural resources nuclear power is limited so to compensate for this the HRL created weapons that worked using Hydro energy these large manned machines named Mechs were soon dubbed Mobile suits. With Superior fire power to fight planes and armor stronger than most tanks the AEU soon found themselves outmatched. After losing many of their territories the AEU turned to their old allies in the Americas for help. The Union came to the help of the AEU and soon both armies were able to develop mobile suits for battle. As of right now the Union are creating mobile suits that run off the power from their orbital elevator which would give them near unlimited running time… |
