Neurotic head Jet Pilot

Name: James "Jimmy" Avery

Age: 30

Gender: Male

Alligence: Earth Federal Alliance

Rank: Captain

Station: Earth (Hates going out to space, but will go if needed)

Call sign: “Zodiac”

Duty: Head Jet pilot

Equipment and Skills: Known to be the “Best Pilot in the Air Force” and can fly anything with wings and an engine, “Anything you put me in, I can fly it.”

Appearance: Jimmy has short black shaggy hair that he usually slicks backwards a bit or just let’s it hang down by his face towards the front. He has dark brown eyes and has facial hair around his chin and around his upper lip that he just let’s grow out. Girls have called him cute or just rough looking, but either way, they seem to be attracted to him. When he's not in his dark blue flight-suit, he's usually seen in dark jeans, some long sleeve t-shirt of some kind, either his black leather jacket or his tan leather jacket, his black combat boots, and some black aviator sunglasses that he wears almost every time he’s outside. He's almost always seen with a cigarette in his mouth, if you don't, it's because he just finished one or he's going to start one real soon. He's always got a pack of cigarettes hidden in his flight suit along with a lighter and always has one in the inside jacket pocket of his jackets along with a classic black Zippo lighter that he will occasionally flick open and closed, a neurotic habit of his. No matter what he’s wearing, he always pins on his flight wings onto his jacket or flight suit.

Personality: Overall, he's a pretty nice guy, but he can be extremely cocky when it comes to flying. He's been labeled one of the best pilots in the Air Force, so that title has really affected the way he works around other pilots. He's neurotic in certain ways, like he has to have his plane cabin a certain way or he can't fly. After each flight, he always has that 'after flight' smoke or he gets cranky, the way he keeps things in his locker, etc. He worked really hard to get where he was in the ranks, but once he got to Captain, it was like he just didn't care anymore and started getting lazy and started to have close to no respect for authority, etc. He does what he’s told a good amount of the time, but he’ll usually back talk at them a bit before doing it. He always says what he's thinking on a certain situation or ideal and he usually talks fast in a weird way (you know it when you hear it) and has a pretty dry sense of humor, even completely sarcastic at times. Most pilots like him once they’re in the air, they are completely professional. Not this one. Jimmy’s been known to sneak a smoke once and a while in the cabin. He’ll crack jokes while in the air and even screw around with barrel rolls, show off a bit. There are only two things that James Avery loves in life: Smoking and flying, especially if he can do both at the same time.

History: Only knowing that he was born in Los Angeles, not much is really known about Jimmy before he joined the Air Force when he was nineteen or so. When asked about it, he just says that his life was uninteresting so they wouldn’t want to hear about it and they’d be wasting his time by asking in the first place. He blew his instructors away on the flight simulators and they couldn’t wait to get him up in the air. Once he was up that first time, he never wanted to be anywhere else. He’s been on an assortment of different missions, blowing his teammates away from his piloting skills. When he wasn’t on missions, his commander wanted him to do some test piloting on the side. Before he was the age of twenty-five, he had flown everything the Air Force had thrown at him with near perfect skill. He mostly flies only the FF-XII Core Fighter II and the FF-6 TIN Cod only.

His call sign of “Zodiac” came about when he was field testing the FF-10 Zodiac Fighter, doing barrel rolls and every trick he knew in the air, pushing the plane to its every limit, about the same time the Annual Spring Ball on the base was going on. Being bored, he called in his buddies to go and open both double doors of the squadron building on either side, where they were holding the ball and he ended up flying the plane right through the building, just above everyone, sending people diving to the floor. He landed the plane right outside, everyone staring at him at the doors, some running out towards him. He got out of the plane, pulled out a cigarette, lit it, stuck it in his mouth while shrugging his shoulders and saying, “What?” The commander came rushing out, pointed at him and yelled in anger, “Get this Zodiac out of here!” Jimmy and his buddies still don’t know whether or not he was talking about the plane or him, but the name stuck with him ever since. Because of the incident, he was ground for only about two weeks.
