Pilots Log: 1.1 Just got back to my bunk from my first combat mission. i scored a kill on a stationary defense turret and the Chief is painting the turret Silhouette on my bird right now. The Roger Young is headed back to earth to drop off some of the stolen goods it can't use and to go through a mechanical inspection. That means I'll get a few days leave which i intend to spend flying dogfight drills on earth. Pilots Log: 1.2 I just had a visit with Colonel Denis Page, our ships Marine Commander. He had a few comments about my blowing a window out on that last mission. It exposed a significant portion of the station to vacuum and he and his boys were forced to wear space suits. I got the feeling that what i did was against standard procedure and gave the marines some extra work. But Colonel Page made it clear to me that what i did was fine by him, it killed two possible threats to the marines and while it gave him more work, his men were ultimately safer because of it. So, i'm feeling a little better about doing it after the chewing out i got from Captain Loran about going off target during mission. He didn't cite me for insubordination though so thats a plus and with Page on my side Captain Loran was kinda forced to back off on the subject. I can't help feeling i got on Loran's bad side though. I sure hope this doesn't effect the squadron negatively. |
