*Mack hadn't noticed at first, but Captain Avery wasn't looking to good. He looked a little shaky, probably what some of the pilots called land sickness. Mack was going through a version of that himself, only this he'd call sun sickness. After several days in space, you get used to there not being any sunlight and your days are lit by perpetual soft glow light bulbs. Now that Mack was on the ground with the sun overhead he felt like he had pulled an all nighter, even though this "Night" had been two weeks worth of time. Mack looked over at Captain Avery's jet. It had the pits and scores of many a combat mission all over it. Mack turned back to listen to Captain Avery rant about his CO.* |
