OK... I think I may have resolved the passing gear in reverse problem, but won't know for sure untill the weather clears up and I can get Thunder out on the road.
Tried to get some feedback from a network of sources and got only guesses and offers to do rebuilds on my transmission, so as it turned out, I ended up doing a "by the book" adjustment on the kick-down cable. Until I get on the road, I won't know if the passing gear will cut in at the right time and believe me... whenever I'm in reverse, I will be in "Emergency Reaction Mode" :yikes:

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun (not!!) with that problem. It's funny how every little problem requires a "rebuild"!! I bet you it's a $2 part thats causing all the problems!
Take it easy

Jeez, I just reread that post - how many times can you use "problem" in a paragraph? :yikes: Apologies for my poor english and lack of imagination folks! It really is a problem!! :D

What is the... ummm... problem? I love my kickdown cable--finally installed one last summer--but there's really not a lot to it.

Changing the length of the throttle rod means changing the length of the cable... just a minor oversight... :head:
