Ok, I'm gonna dredge this one back up :D Sometimes it's just the little things that make them look good. Hand painting the bolt heads under the bonnet if you've recently undone one so that they all look good (or use stainless if you prefer). Change your inner door lock knobs to fresh new bright ones, get a dash mat with the embroidered pony on it (looks good and protects). Armour all the rad and heater hoses under your hood (there is no way you're gonna disguise them so make em shiny!) Loop all your additional wiring into a single harness and run one down either side of the engine bay (looks heaps neater) And the list goes on.......... :D

I also feel guilty, I just want to hop in my car and drive it--detailing be damned!

But you guys have the perfect time to do all the detailing in winter, it's not like you can actually drive anywhere! Not like here where you have a show or a run every month, any work you wanna do you have to squeeze in between shows or miss one. And nobody likes to miss a show!!

It's way too cold over the winter for detailing the car, unless you have a heated shop. Too cold to do anything. :bang:

Yeah, good point! I hadn't really considered that  . I guess I'm just used to our alpine region. Where I go skiing I think the coldest I've been is -8c, though the wind chill bought it down a bit. When I was in Iraq we had an overnight of -14c and I was REALLY cold. Trouble was the next day was 36c so you didn't know whether you were Arthur or Martha :D Last year when I was over your way (Canada that is!) it just starting to snow/sleet and the locals were getting about in T-shirts still!! But I digress  I spose you stand a pretty good chance of damaging wiring etc if you mess with it when it's that cold?

In the wintertime you can always pop the hood and clean the engine bay inspite of the congestion in the garage. :D

Yeah... guess I could start off using the shop-vac under the hood!!!
Just thought of something... I could sit in the car with the vacuum running under the hood and pretend I'm driving a jet powered Thunder!!! :skidmarks:
