Then the next piece goes at the front, that way I can work my way towards the center, always leaving as much of the original as possible, so I can keep the curvature the same. |

It went well, very little warpage, a light glaze of filler and it will be good as new!

Needs more detailing, not completely done with the welding, or tying it in with the wheel tub, but I'll leave it alone and get to the other side, and do it exactly the same while it's fresh on my mind. Notice the tire clearance now with the same 215 size tire as before. |

Comments? I know some purists would probably object, but it's just a notchback, and I think it will be a successful experiment. I don't think it will be noticable at all, and will allow some healthy tires on an otherwise stock looking 65. It's probably going to be another year and a half before the car is done, I have to save my pennies for a crate engine, new trans, wiring harness, GT grille, and also, a new power rack and pinion steering conversion. I have a lot to do in the meantime, without spending much money. New floor pans (which I have) and cleaning up the engine compartment. More updates later!
