I've actually been making a little progress lately - I can't believe I've had this car for four years now. It's been put on the back burner so many times, it's nice to be able to report progress. The good part is, it hasn't been physically aging at all, since it's been resting in a dry, insulated garage.

The 5 lug conversion is basically done, though it needs a lot of detailing with brakes, shocks etc., I just need to be able to roll it around a little now, plenty of time for details later. I have several pictures - don't know if I should post them here or in the pictures gallery, so I'll put them here, and the Queen can dicipline me if I got it wrong.

Silver will be the color :D that's the left front suspension area. It's now got all new front suspension parts - springs, ball joints, bushings, etc. Next is a look from the right front; (both sides look like that now)

On the right front is one of a set of 14" magnum wheels I have lying around - from a 72 Torino. I always did like that style, though the set I have is in bad shape. They weren't stock on 65's, but they did come on 66 GT350's, some of the later Boss Mustangs, as well as the early 70's Torinos. They can be bought new at a somewhat reasonable price compared to many other wheels, that's probably how I'll go, though there's plenty of time to decide.

On the back, I put an old 15 incher on, to see just how clearance would be, and it obviously wasn't good, even though it's a fairly small 215/15 tire. As I had rust to fix around the rear wheelwells anyway, I decided to make them larger by one inch all around. Not enough to be really noticable, but enough to help with tire clearance. I'd like to go with at least 225, if not 235 (15) rear tires without changing the suspension.

I bought patch panels in separate pieces as shown, because I knew I'd be cutting them in several pieces to do this job.

Then there is the rear section that goes behind the wheel, one of the areas that is usually pretty rusty. That's where I started - I used tape to mark off one inch to be sliced out, then welded the two pieces back together.

No overlap on these, just a butt weld.
