Here are a few vague ideas I have for the future of the RP. I want you to let me know what your plans for your characters are so I can work around them. 1. The attack on Venice forces Lucian, Blackie, and the rest of the Eastern Trade Union (comprised of Syndicate, Thieves Guild, and eastern cities) to reject the idea of allying themselves with the Northern Demon Empire, despite Lucifer's desire to unite against the gods. Instead, Lucian goes through with his plan to make an alliance with Apollo. This, it seems, goes quite well. Apollo, Athena, Hestia, Artemis, and Hermes journey to Lauraisa, specifically to the eastern city of Belfast. There, they meet with the leaders of the Syndicate. These five gods say that they no longer agree with Ouranos's plans of conquest, as they suspect that Ouranos is working for someone who wants Vanda's unparalleled magical power for themselves. This is when Leareth arrives at the meeting with Jin Dao, who supports his entry. Leareth informs the five gods of what the Jinn King revealed to him: that Ouranos is working for the Lemurians, who desire the magical power in Vanda's lifestream for their own purpose. Leareth suspects that they want to use Vanda as a magical weapon to maintain their rule over the physical realm. Furthermore, he informs Apollo that the gods are merely servants of the Lemurians, bred for war. Apollo requests for a few days recess to think this information over. Unfortunately, during this time, Michael's group undoes the seal on magic. The five gods loose much of their power, as they find out that the power that had welled up within them as Spiritual Force returned to the planet as magic. With their power reduced, the five gods accept the proposal of the Eastern Trade Empire and formally ally themselves with them. The Eastern Trade Empire shores up its borders and prepares for a different sort of war, one that will be fought on all sides. 2. Janus accompanies Michael and the others in unsealing magic. As they journey, Janus revives Cornelius from the black crystals. In the process, Cornelius returns to his physical form from Terra, apparently with all his memories of being a priest returned to him. He renews his allegiance to Janus, and then departs to begin assembling his Preying Blades again. Janus lets Michael know that he has been using the Preying Blades as a personal network of assassins and informants; in other words, as a kind of secret special forces team. Cornelius recruits all but Jean back to his cause, as the former blades have found themselves unable to adapt to a normal lifestyle again. Cornelius tries to use this to convince Jean to return, saying that the blades, as warriors, have no rights or freedoms; that they are captives of their power and the evolutionary drive that pushes them to use that power to fulfill their respective destines. Jean retorts by saying that his destiny is different. Cornelius rubs in the fact that Jean will never be happy with the people he has surrounded himself with. Jean, according to Cornelius, will never be rid of his lust for battle or of his urge to kill. Jean tries to say that knowing Mizu has changed him, but Cornelius only laughs at this, saying that Jean has no future with this girl. Cornelius departs, and Jean vows to free his comrades from Cornelius. Janus and Michael's group finishes unsealing magic. Vergel fights with his other self, Caro, who attempts to lash out at the group as he fades from existence. Vergel eventually wins out, and the group then rests at a nearby village as the strain of losing Spiritual Force exhausts them. Vergel, during this time, meets many people who knew him and reflects on how he has lived his life up to this point. Janus, meanwhile, begins planning out his return to Daetalus with Michael. Cornelius makes contact with Rheda, and then returns to Janus with his report. Rheda, it seems, has been developing lancers for the Control Faction, who have been using them to ward off Daetalus's floating fortress. Janus decides to attack the Control Faction first and seize control of Rheda and her production facilities. They will then use the lancers, the Preying Blades, the Control Faction's army, and Janus's power to lay siege to Valley Point, the new capitol of Daetalus. With Valley Point captured, they can publicly execute the politicians who had seized control and reform the Empire. Then, Janus plans to deal with the gods himself. He seems sure that Ouranos will not ignore him for long, not with magic unsealed. He is also sure that after the gods lose their overwhelming advantage in terms of raw power, they will be vulnerable to weapons like the lancers, which can defeat Battle Fortresses when used in great numbers. 3. Lucifer rallies the Great Demon Empire of the north, and then leads them to Laurasia in an attempt to finish Nyx. Unfortunately, she is reinforced by the forces of Poseidon and Hephaestus, who have found new, human allies in the eastern continent of Gondwana. This more than makes up for the loss of physical power they experienced as a result of magic being unsealed. Lucifer once again leads his demons to war against powerful human foes. The dragoons of Gondwana, supported by Poseidon and Hephaestus's Battle Fortresses, lead powerful attacks against Lucifer's army, but Lucifer uses his hellish battle engines forged in the fires of Pandemonium to bring the fight to a stalemate. Lucifer faces off against Hephaestus and Poseidon alone as a bold group of human warriors aided by a group of demon allies (Georg, Polychrome, and the upper class demons) attempts to finish off the goddess Nyx once and for all. Daetalus and the Eastern Trade Empire refuse to send aid to the Demon Empire, further hurting the chances of an alliance being forged between them. 4. Nieve eventually recruits the help of Jack Logan in her bid to contact her people, the Lemurians. In this effort, she receives unexpected help from Frey, who has been distraught by the violent state of the world. Frey desperately wants to know how Vanda has once again become so torn by war. He also wants to help stop another Great Catastrophe from happening. Gillis, the archsage, also joins them in this endeavor. The Lunarians eventually answer Nieve's call and join her on Vanda. Frey presses them to explain why they moved from the Southern Continent to the moon. The Lunarians reveal that they discovered that Vanda itself seemed to almost brainwash entire civilizations into warring against each other. The Lunarians had hoped to escape the cycles of violence and death by living on Vanda's moon. From this unique perspective, they were able to witness the Great Catastrophe and the rise and fall of various civilizations. They also studied the cycles of magic on Vanda. Wars seemed to significantly strengthen the level of magic in Vanda's lifestream. Through study of historical records and the study of Janus's reemergence, the Lunarians also found that Janus, Rabist, and Rabisat's revivals always preluded Great Catastrophe's throughout Vanda's history. Furthermore, every Great Catastrophe brought on a great reduction of magic levels on Vanda. There is even evidence that, with every Great Catastrophe, the star formations changed. Entire constellations would disappear, and new ones would reappear. The Lunarians suspect that whatever causes the Great Catastrophes also triggers profound astronomical events. Nieve, having heard Leareth's story, wonders if the Lemurians are in any way responsible for this. Could it be that their interest in Vanda plays a part in this cycle? Andrew or one of the others will then give their account of Vanda's origin. They tell this to the Lunarians, who take a few days to think this over. When they return, they give a grim new theory: that perhaps the Lemurians are still using Vanda as a sort of cosmic weapon. It could be possible that they instated Gods over humans and demons as a way of "recharging" Vanda's lifestream with a cycle of life and death so that the Lemurians could use the power of the lifestream as a sort of "magic battery" for their own interstellar wars. The group, needless to say, is left speechless. Could this be the purpose of all the wars and catastrophe's in Vanda's history? They can only guess... More to come... 5. Janus continues to manipulate Clint, forcing the man to rally his surviving followers. They end up helping Janus regain his empire, serving as frontline infantry and artillery units in the siege of Valley Point. Clint sees many of his best men and good friends killed. He begins inching towards true insanity, unable to resist Janus's power over his body. Clint makes several attempts to kill himself, only to be stopped each time. After Janus rebuilds his Empire, he casts Clint aside. Rather than letting the man kill himself, Janus turns Clint over to Cornelius, who tortures and trains Clint, turning him into the newest member of the Preying Blades. Clint's desire to liberate the world from Janus subsides, giving away to the self-loathing and intense hatred bred within him as he watched his friends die before his eyes, unable to even attempt to rescue them. Cornelius is impressed with Clint's drive, and soon molds him into a capable assassin. Janus is amused to see his former enemy reduced to such a pitiable state. Eventually, Clint is sent after Jean and whoever is with him. In the ensuing battle, Jean learns of what Clint was put through. Despite what Clint has done in the past, Jean acknowledges that no one deserves his fate no matter what their crimes. Jean then tries to help Clint. His motivation to do so stems from his own experiences with Cornelius, and his pity for a man who had suffered such a similar fate. More to Come... Edited by JDWitchdoctor, Aug 12 2011, 02:59:43 PM.
