Back to the good old SPFL (or whatever).

International break coming up and lots of frustration given Tuesday night I would have thought so here is to getting back into the winning groove and regaining some momentum.

Motherwell will be hungry for something so I would hope that we went with the strongest side possible and we see the continuing return of Kayal, and the involvement of Pukki from the start.

Bury them Celtic. :ynwa:

Stokes, Pukki

subs: Zaluska, Biton, Balde, Kayal, Atajic, Forrest, Henderson

Our Dutch flyer seems to be out for a while his ankle injury turning out to be along term problem ?

Hope to see Balde get another goal

Terrific performance, especially so soon after a CL game. Full of energy, wit and attacking nous, so well done Celtic.

Plenty of standout performers today, but for me, van Dijk gets better and better and seems to have adapted to the pace of the SPFL so quickly it is a sign of a real quality in a centre half so young. Izaguirre looked back to his best and the two goals were really well taken as well.

All in all, the best way to go into a break and thanks to ICT getting hammered, back to the top of the league with a game in hand. :scarf:

I didn't watch the game today, but I have also been
very impressed with van Dijk every time I've watched
him. He looks strong and secure, and reminds me a lot of Paul Elliott. Unfortunately I think he might be the
next player who will be sold to a Premier League team. :(

Looks like Matthews could be out for the season :(

http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/celtic/news/lennon-matthews-could-miss-rest-of-2013_109381.html

hope not .... although i have to be honest ... i donīt like him playing on the wing ... fullback yes .. right mid .. no ... unless the idea is to shut down that right hand side ... because he has some serious problems when crossing the ball whichshould be something natural to a winger :hmmm:

Sad news. He is a terrific prospect, has a lot of work to do, but he has improved since he came and looks quite capable on the CL stage. Agree fully about his ability as a right winger, but then that can be improved upon. I remember Ryan Giggs when he was a young winger, atrocious crosser of the ball so he was.

With Lustig seemingly struggling with staying fit for a decent length of games it could mean the breaking up of the centre half pairing and giving Ambrose some time as a fullback (not a good position for him I don't think), so who knows, a loan move in the winter break for right fullback could be on the cards, or, perhaps a run out for one of the youngsters, which would be my preferred option.

Hope Matthews is back asap though. :thumb up:

Great result yesterday against a team who inexplicably cause us problems in the past , we cruised through the game playing some lovely football that they couldnt cope with

To repeat everyones opinion .... Virgil is a hell of a find , Ambrose is in great form , Izzy played very well ... what a save from FF , showing terrific concentration , having very littleto do for 80 odd minutes then produce a fantastic save

Hope Mathews' injury isnt as bad as feared , if its a broken collarbone then he,ll be out for 3 months

Our new guys Birton , Pukki & Balde are still settling in but they,re a talented bunch

so its international football now :(
