Well here we go the first of 6 easy games against inexperienced first timers in the CL , about time we got the luck of the draw :yay:

To sound like the stereotypical pundit ..... if we can keep it sensible for the first 20 minutes even goalless till halftime :clover:

No stupidity or self inflicted madness please a la Juve last campaign or Caldwell away to Benfica ... lets not be intimidated or toooo respectful play with discipline and with a preconceived plan

They will put Ashley Young to shame when it comes to throwing themselves to the ground in the penalty area no doubt wrestle our players in their penalty area as Juve did but expect it and have alternative ideas don't be surprised by the predictable , again

Stokes is in form , we have speed to breakaway , we have height , we have experience lets hope we have a strong referee

Don't concede early ( or at all  ) let them get nervous as the game goes on .... if we play as we are capable of , if FF has a night to remember likewise Brown , Ledley , Commons & Mathews then who knows

Am workin late tomorrow  .... be home for the second half :scarf:

Just that wee bit of experience required and things would have been oh so different.

Well done Celtic for giving it your all and, what else can I say? Thought the entire team played very well, controlled the game, but it comes down to the old adage about taking your chances, something that needs to be looked at seriously. As well as the two of them have played, Stokes and Commons are both very similar footballers and perhaps having them in the same side on this stage is a luxury that a side like Celtic doesn't have. Sounds tough, but then that is why Lennon is in charge and none of the rest of us are.

I thought Scott Brown was magnificent yesterday, best European performance I have seen him give by far. Mulgrew alongside him was also very good. For the last few seasons, I have said that the best central midfield for European games in my opinion was Kayal, Ledley and Wanyama but yesterday we played Brown (who I prefer on the right) and Mulgrew (who for me is a centre half) and they were excellent, harried the opposition, won the ball, churned possession, spread the ball when needed, and all of that away in the San Siro.

Fair enough, Milan weren't anything like the quality of side of the last Milan side Celtic faced but credit where it is due. Prior to the match there was all the usual Italian hype of not having enough players, being off form, all that other rubbish but when you looked at the match winners they had in their starting eleven you realised all of them were very good players, so for Celtic to do what they did to them in terms of the overall play was fantastic. Had it not been for an excellent performance by Mexes, their two goals would have been no guarantee that the would receive anything from the game.

Proud of you Celtic, now use this feeling to push you onto even greater things, and some results! :huddle:

2-0 defeat at the San Siro in the last 8 minutes and I am feeling so gutted for them. Says it all really.

Well shows how well we have improved when we are all feeling " what might have been" after a 2-0 defeat in the San Siro

Yes we held them out until over 80 minutes ... well when I say held them out .. they didnt really threaten and I thought big Efe was immense :thumb up:

The Mathews Lustig partnership is improving ... but Mathews although a willing runner is never in a million years a winger ... but then even if he did put the ball in the box ... who did we have ?

Stokes for that matter is not a Number 9 ... more a Number 10 or a second striker .. linking play but as Des said Commons is in the team for that reason ...

Charlie ... ah why did that overhead kick not fall to Sammy or even Stokes or Commons

The defense is looking reasonably solid .. ok we gave up 2 goals ... but one was a wicked deflection the other a scramble after a great save by Fraser ... although a pity he didnt palm it away from goal .. but a great save none the less.

Bring on the Barça .... Noise em up !! :ynwa: :scarf: :P
