Back to real football and probably the closest thing we have to a derby game. It'll be fast and spicy and hope we bury them early. :ynwa:

Avoid injuries .... don't know much about the Hertz team that will take the pitch but gone are the days of hammer throwers such as Webster , Black etc ( a think Webster has gone  ) but however plays for them will take their lead from the hate that will ooze out from the home support

A good performance with a clean sheet and a few goals scored would be good but more importantly imo is that our defence are in sync playing tight and ffs stop this defending long balls , corners , shies etc like Sunday morning pub players !!!!! .... don't give away unnecessary corners , free-kicks or shies but if need be defend like Mjallby not Hooveild

Would love to see Balde score :scarf: ... lookin forward to the game there always got an edge on/off the pitch

Celtic team to face Hearts: Forster; Lustig, Ambrose, Van Dijk, Izaguirre; Matthews, Brown, Ledley, Boerrigter; Commons, Stokes.

Celtic subs: Zaluska, Samaras, Balde, Rogic, Pukki, Mulgrew, Atajic.

Not a bad first half, did our job controled most of the game, and got that little bit of luck with the pen call, Very good pen indeed by Commons 0-1 to the... :scarf:.

So more of the same this half Celtic and kill them off, Bit of a worry, Matthews has limped off to be replaced by Samaras, So hope he's fit for wed night.... :(

H.T. - 0-1 to the Hoops... :D

Fantastic entertainment, driven from the very vocal stands.

Good guys deserved the win as well and I thought van Dyke stood up really well to everything thrown at him and looks to possess a good threat going forward as well. Nice to have a centre half like that, it has been a while. :thumb up:

Thought everyone played very well and am pleased to see confidence this high after some strange few weeks with some elements of the support being grumpy for whatever reason.

Have to say that Stokes is far exceeding my expectations of him this season, has chipped in with a few goals and has set up his fair share as well, fair play to the lad and here is to hoping his form continues and he can put the consistency with the undoubted skill he possesses. :thumb up:

I feel Scott Brown is also coming onto his game though the silly mistakes will always happen I think. For all his faults he is very much a leader on the park and long may it continue. The end of last season and the beginning of this is the first time I have been impressed with him in the middle of the park and he bossed that area today. I know it was a young Hearts side but you can only beat what they put in front of you.

Nice to have Pukki on the scoresheet, but if he thinks this is a typical SPL game then he has a lot to learn, when the pitch gets boggy, the wind comes up and passing becomes a chore then we will see how suited he is to the game. Great start though, and some good signs of movement as well.

As for the "soft" penalty, I think he gave it because accidental or otherwise, the ball was on its way in from the header. It was harsh, yes, but not in the same category of the incident with Ambrose. That said it was Willie Collum and he actually booked Izaguirre for making a tackle from the front, getting a piece of the ball and watching while the Hearts player fell into him so I don't hold too much hope anyway.

All in all, couldn't be happier, terrific day. :ynwa:

Thought Stokes was excellent his movement , positioning and intelligence was a joy to watch , Lustig & Mathews on the right are a great combo hopefully the latter is fit for Milan

van Dijk was terrific his driving runs from our defence into theirs is becoming a real added plus to his game , he likely had it before he came to use ..... Ambrose likewise but maybe not in Milan though Effe ;)

In the first half they were lucky not to go in 3/4 down

Commons looks fat or is that toned :) ...... great to see Pukki score , I like the look of him .... Gary McAllister is as good a co-commentator as he is a penalty taker , for an x pro he seems to talk crap but I shouldn't be surprised after Burley etc

Brown revels in that atmosphere :fight:

Thought the Celtic fans were in good form :ynwa:
