I see they drew yesterday with Bangura missin a penalty but is he going to play if he does will he choose this night to bang in a coupla goals .... or will he do the square route of hee haw to have us scratching our heads as to why we signed him in the first place If what I,ve read elsewhere is true that Elfsborg are paying his entire salary and they paid a loan fee them imo he,s their player for this season so ok to start Assuming there aint gonna be a Magners Monday with some marque signing in time for the game its gonna be more or less the team that played Cliftonville A clean sheet would be great as would 3 goals for us .... I really like what I,ve seen of Rogic - comfortable on the ball driving at defences and can pass/shoot Hopefully Brown , Forrest , Izzy , Lustig , Mathews , Kayal are fit doubt if our Dutch centre back will play wouldn't it be great if Balde scored a hat-trick after an " indifferent " start to his career .... a bit like when Arfur Daleys new minder took over from Denis Waterman Edited by Caesar, Jul 28 2013, 10:10 AM.

Tough one for Bangura, but if, as caesar contends, he is having his wages paid by Elfsborg and they paid to have him there for the season, then I certainly wouldn't begrudge him playing. Like the look of Rogic as well, and he will probably be next year's Wanyama if he continues his development. Looks like he has a creative side and always seems to be going in the right direction, precisely what mid table EPL sides are seeking to get a little edge over the other relegation candidates. Long way to go yet though. Nice to see Ledley get some game time under his belt yesterday, and when he returns the midfield should be very strong despite the departure of Wanyama. Kayal, Brown, Ledley, Commons and Rogic are all decent contenders for the central areas, and with Liam Henderson showing glimpses of good play I don't think Lennon will be too worried about replacing Wanyama. The bigger urgency is left back where we need cover, and another striker as none of the current bunch look to have goals in them the way Hooper did. Elfsborg will be tough, but I am sure Celtic can overcome, and to be fair, if we can't put away the likes of Elfsborg over two legs then I am not sure we should be worried about the CL. |

They look assured , confident and liable to score we don't possess any of those qualities .... Ambrose & Bangura worry me If our playmaker is Commons then Samaras will be our biggest threat Great save from FF Lots of effort from our midfield but that aint enough in these games Get Balde on for Stokes this game is when his career begins They are chasing everything , harrying us but I think we can win perhaps we are making them look better than they are |

Still looking a bit disjointed, and for me, this is down to three main factors. Starting at the back, when Wilson isn't at the races, there seems to be a fragile quality about the defence. Ambrose is all well and fine taking the ball out but Wilson needs to be the responsible one when that happens, and today Wilson was mentally all over the place. If Wilson continues like this (a shadow of the player he was last season and carbon copy of the season before when he was unsettled), then Mulgrew has to step in and lead the defence. I would have thought van Dijk has been signed as the leader of the defence, so we will see what happens on his return. Kayal and Brown aren't a good combination in the centre of midfield. I still think Kayal has a lot to offer, though he will frustrate many fans who will have him as this season's boo boy no doubt. He is not a like for like replacement for Wanyama, but the Kenyan has moved on and so must we as a support. Brown had a poor game I thought, compared to his stellar performances last season, and when the two of them play in the centre, there isn't much happening creatively. This is not a problem if Commons is on his game, but credit to Elfsborg, they closed the space well. Up front is where the real problem is. Stokes is no replacement for Hooper in the penalty box. We have two strikers who like to do their work away from where they need to be, and while Samaras is incredibly effective at running at a defence, Stokes is more of a luxury in my opinion. Would have liked to see Balde get on. However long he takes to settle, we need someone who can hold up the ball and allow the midfielders and other attackers a chance to get alongside him and make a difference. Would have liked to have seen him play, but fully understand Lennon going with Stokes as he is a known quantity. All that said, it is a win, and a clean sheet, and a round we have to navigate to get to where we want to be. On another note, I didn't understand the booing of Bangura. Utterly pointless, he is still a Celtic player and has been loaned out to get his confidence back. The point of booing him escapes me. He was selected to play and has to do his best. Sometimes the Celtic support confounds me. Then again, I heard a couple of boos for Larsson when he returned to Celtic Park with Barcelona. Good result, still have a great chance of going through.
