This is glamour , two great names of European football , some jaw dropping talent gracing Paradise played in an atmosphere that will be second to none :ynwa:

I see Juventus comfortably beat Fiorentina 2-0 at the weekend , 5 points clear in the league with Pirlo being described as " imperious " :nervous:

A could be described as nervious , worriedious , moodious = pessimistious/less pessimstious & shittinious it

Theres plenty of reasons to be optimistic in that we,ve " contained " relatively speaking , some of Europes greatest talents and we,ve scored against some of Europes greatest defenders but then again Steven Thompson has scored against us

We,ve beaten the Spanish & Russian champions but the Italian teams are a different ball game never mind the Italian champions

I,ve thought of countless different formations and the only thing i can say with any certainty is thatt FF will play in goal and Hooper will play up front .... ok ... Brown & Vic will play in the middle

If Forrest is fit then I think his speed along with Watt would be a great double substitution with 30 minutes or so to go

Am assuming gorgeous George wont make it which may be to our advantage as Juve will know how we play with him in the team

Really looking forward to the game but with work, I might miss it. :yikes:

Juventus are a young team, with a very good old head pulling all the strings, which makes them a deadly proposition. We haven't had much success against Italian teams of late, but then until this campaign, we hadn't won away in the CL either so who knows?

Celtic Park will be up for it, and hopefully we don't concede early and have as much chance as we can. Europe has been fun this year, and very profitable. Stay in the competition longer and even if they don't stay, the transfer figures that can be demanded for the likes of Hooper and Wanyama (who will probably be in their last seasons at Celtic Park) will be increased greatly.

Do us proud. Again. :scarf: :huddle: :ynwa:

A bus full of Juve fans stopped at a pub on Sauchiehall St I can see from my office window and within a few minutes there was police vans arriving at the pub. Plenty of :fight: tonight I'd imagine.

Samaras is a big loss, but hopefully the others will make a good contribution. Quite an attacking lineup it must be said and plenty on the bench to make a difference as well.

Come on Celtic, you can do it. :thumb up:

Silly mistake but a great game of football. Keep at it and they will hopefully get something here.

Really missing Samaras and his aerial threat. As for the referee, he has been terribleand especially with his booking of Hooper.

Come on you boys in green. :ynwa:

Passing, passing, passing.

Despite the excellent effort and energy the young team and young manager got outsmarted on and off the park by experienced wiser heads.

All part and parcel of the learning curve for players and management.

All that said, we had plenty of good chances and you have to take them. That is what Juventus did and that's why it is back to the drawing board.

Must be smarter when it comes to keeping the ball though and in the 2nd half we hardly strung any passes together after 70 mins or so. Add a fit Samaras and things might have been different. Flattering scoreline for Juventus and a referee who just hasn't a clue with what to do at corners.

Good effort, near impossible task to go through but they have done really well to get this far.

I thought we played well in the 1st half and had a
lot of attempts on goal, and Commons could have scored from that overhead kick. In the second half
we didn't create much, apart from the header from Ambrose. If we hadn't made those blunders at the
first and third goal we might still have had something
to play for in the return leg. But the team has gained some invaluable experience, which can be used in the next CL campaign - just hope we can keep players like Wanyama and Hooper.

I hear that wrestling has been banned from the Olympic games, but apparently not from the Champions League.

No doubt we were the better team, But it's time and time again Celtic come up with Sunday morning pub team defending. And at this level, if you much as slip on the pitch for a second you will get punished.

Lenny also got allot of things wrong before the game. There's no way Ambrose should have started that game. Mulgrew and Izzy played well out of position. Hooper and commons don't work. If Sammy was unfit then Lassad or another big physical player up front, Plus we had no width at all, Forrest was well marked out of it. Which left most crossing to Lustig , who was hit and miss. We did win most of the game through the middle, But with the lack of runners to pull there back 4 all over the place, We were left with long range efforts for most of the game.

As for Juve, There just like any other Italian team, They know the tricks and how to get away with them on the pitch, Italians have been doing this for a life time in big crucial games. Even watched there International team win world cups with the same game plan.

Bar there pathetic wrestling and time wasting. They were very ordinary, But the bottom line is, we (Celtic) once again let our-self down on the big stage with pathetic school boy defending. No harm to Juve but they were gifted to them by us.

And at the end of the day you have to stand up and  Lenny and the bhoys for getting this far, With some stunning results in a group that we were given no chance at all..... :huddle: :ynwa: :scarf:

To start off with their manhandling of our players whilst it was maddenly infuriating it highlighted just yet another aspect of cheating on the park which is left unpunished by weak referees but then I was at Celtic Park when Athletico Madrid tried to hosptialise Celtic players , Jinky in particular

When it was blatantly obvious that the Juve players were going to be allowed to foul our players in the box with no consequences why didnt we try some other tactic ? have our attacking players line up on the edge of the box or have our corners go straight to Commons or Mulgrew outside the box to first time it hoping for deflection ?

I,ve praised Ambrose in the past for the way he comes out of defence with the ball but Tuesday wasnt the time or place . I thought Brown was excellent our distribution was poor and it was a frustrating night I wasnt overly impressed with Juventus

Och who knows ...... we score over there an go into the interval 1-0 up
