Rami Gershon has signed on loan, confirmed today by Lenny himself, Deal will run until the end of the season. If he impresses we can sign him for £800,000 with the fee being agreed. :???:

Crystal Palace are trying to sign Paddy McCourt, Most likely a Loan Deal.

Lenny said they had been talking To Kevin Thomson but the deal look's dead due to his high wage packet which the club would have to match and his injury problems being an issue also..... :nervous:

Paper Talk....

FINNISH PLAYMAKER ON HOOPS RADAR... Rubin Kazan creative midfielder Roman Eremenko has been lined up as a potential Celtic signing by Neil Lennon, though the 25-year-old's price tag of £4m may prove a stumbling block. The former Dynamo Kiev star is the younger brother of former Kilmarnock player Alexei Eremenko and has 47 caps for Finland...

Rami ? ...... :hmmm: .... BIG Rami :fight:

Kevin Thomson ? hell no

Unless Kayal wants to go then I,m in no rush to see him go he,s been unlucky with injuries but he can get back to his early form I,m sure which would make him vital to our first team squad

Looking @ the EPL teams who are desperate to stay there & who,d be willing to shell out stupid money to stay there I,m thinking .....

QPR - bottomless pit of £££££ so if they thought Hooper could score 15 goals which could be the difference between them playing Burnley or Man City next season then we could receive a bid of £12m chump change for them these days

Southampton/Villa - modest budget compared to QPR but Hooper linking with Southamptons Lambert could keep them up ... Villa need defenders , midfielders & goal scorers so I think Paul Lambert doesnt have the contempt of the SPL that most have

Wigan & Sunderland - I can imagine them eyeing up a couple of Celtic players as will Championship promotion contenders

Roll up ... roll up

I'm not bothered that Kevin Thomson played for them but I am bothered with the fact that his leg breaks with the weight of his shin pad. Good player but not had alot of football in recent seasons.

If Kayal wants to go then fine. He's a good player but is injury prone and I'd have Wanyama, Brown and Ledley in front of him. As long as he's replaced I won't be too sad at him going.

I was of the opinion that when at Hibs, Thomson was the better player than Brown and more of the type of player we needed at the time, so my problem is less with him arriving than with Kayal leaving. Kayal is a very important player to Celtic when he is even approaching his best form and has the ability to freeze out other teams through his drive and enthusiasm for the time he is on the park. More importantly, he is something that we don't have anywhere else in the midfield, an organiser. When he plays we tend to keep more of the ball and win it back quicker so he would be a massive loss for me, especially given Wanyama will probably be away before too long.

Back to Thomson and Brown and how things have progressed since they left Easter Road all those years ago, and the story is completely different. Brown has finally turned into the player he was supposed to, and has the team to play in to complement his abilities (after years of thoroughly inconsistent and uninspiring performances for the most part) and Thomson seems to have learned how to dive and get injured.

I am in no doubt that Thomson is still the type of player that Celtic needs were Kayal to leave but am equally in no doubt that he isn't a patch on our Palestinian wee dynamo (who, like the others, I can't see wanting to leave Celtic for anyone outside of a larger EPL club, competing for a CL spot).

What do I know anyway, this is down to how much we trust Lennon's ability to find new talent, and the man is remarkably good at that going by his ability to put this side together. The first of many sides before they get broken up and sold on for a profit?

CELTIC are back in the hunt for SC Braga winger Helder Barbosa.

The Portuguese international is on the Parkhead radar as manager Neil Lennon seeks to fine-tune his squad during the January transfer window.

The Celtic boss has spoken about his wish for a left-sided attacking midfielder or winger and Barbosa is in the equation.

The 25-year-old was subject of interest from the SPL champions in the last transfer window and We understand a loan bid was booted out by Braga.

However, Celtic are still aware of his position and, with Barbosa of his position and, with the player into the final six months of his contract, are on the case.

Barbosa’s agent Angelo Martins confirmed: “At this moment the interest from Celtic is still there and is, I think, stronger than before.”

Braga’s position with Barbosa could well have changed after their refusal to let him go in the summer.

Signed by Domingos Pacienca two years ago from Porto, he was an instant hit and also featured heavily under Leonardo Jardim’s stewardship last term.

However, the appointment of new coach Jose Paseiro six months ago with his more direct style has limited Barbosa’s opportunities and he’s only made eight starts this season with a further six outings from the bench.

Martins said: “Two months ago, Helder played for the national team of Portugal, so he can play at the top level.”

Barbosa first came to Celtic’s attention when doing their homework ahead of the Champions League qualifier against Braga in 2010.

We understand Celtic would again look for a loan, although Braga may accept a cut-price offer.

His involvement in this season’s Champions League group stages with Braga would mean he could not play for Celtic against Juventus, but Martins is adamant that would not affect the player’s thinking.

He said: “Helder would be thrilled to go to Celtic, I can assure you.”

Rami Gershon's agent says defender has signed for Celtic on six-month loan deal ..... :thumb up:

FC Ashdod’s Nigerian left-back Juwon Oshinawa has also been mentioned as a target.

Celtic eyeing up Rogic

Australia international Tom Rogic could be set for a move to Celtic after
joining up with the Scottish champions for their week-long training camp in
Spain.

While no offer has yet been made for the Central Coast Mariners midfielder, it
is believed Celtic will make their move if he impresses and place an offer on
the table to the A-League club.

"This is a great opportunity for Tomas to train with Celtic's first team squad,"
Mariners general manager of football Lawrie McKinna said.

"Celtic are in their mid-season break and are busy preparing for their Champions
League matches against Juventus in February, so Tom will undoubtedly learn a lot
from the experience."

Rogic, 20, is currently serving a three-match suspension for a rash tackle
during an A-League match last month, therefore allowing the player to join the
Glasgow club in Spain.

The Mariners man won his first international cap in a friendly against South
Korea last November and is considered one of the most exciting young talents in
the A-League.

"Technically he is very sound but he has that element of creativity, he does the
unexpected, which can decide a game and can give a certain flavour to a game,"
Australia coach Holger Osiek said of the player at the time.

Was listing to an Interview with Lenny today from our training camp in Spain....... :D

He was asked on adding anymore players in this window.

Lenny said things were looking good. He said that deals for The America kid Juan Agudelo & Australia international Tom Rogic were very much on......He said he would love to tie up some sort of deals with both players before the window shuts. The deal with the American kid, Would have to be a permanent deal. And talks were ongoing between Celtic and Chivas USA to thrash out a deal. He also said they have had a look at Nigerian left Fullback Juwon Oshaniwa...

:hmmm: :hmmm:

CELTIC are closing in on a deal for USA striker Juan Agudelo.

The promising 20-year-old Chivas starlet has been high on Neil Lennon’s list of signing targets.

And Celts were last night on the brink of completing From Back Page the youngster’s move from the MLS.

Agudelo has 16 caps for the USA and is regarded in the States as one of their biggest talents.

He spent a week on trial at Lennoxtown before the new year and Lennon was suitably impressed.

The Hoops boss was weighing up other targets but, after West Ham became interested in Agudelo, he decided to make his move and talks are at an advanced stage.

The frontman has been in London training with the Hammers as he looks to move to the UK.

Upton Park gaffer Sam Allardyce is understood to be keen on beating Celtic to his signature.

But Agudelo is now on his way to Glasgow.

Contract talks were ongoing last night and it’s expected the deal for the former New York Red Bulls ace could be sealed over the weekend.

LOAN STAR GOING NOWHERE... Neil Lennon insists Miku can still make an impact despite a disappointing few months on loan. The Getafe star looks likely to complete the full year of his spell in Glasgow...

Is there any point in keeping him unless he's going to play him week in and week out..... :melodramatic:

Fine with this to be honest. I thought he put in a really excellent performance against Barcelona, always willing to run for the team and led the line really well. :thumb up:

I don't think there is much value in doing too much during this window, we have a couple of big games at least to prepare for and then there is the domestic front which we are more than equipped to deal with at the moment.

The break and no key players leaving should be good enough to tide things over until the end of the season, when I expect we will see a couple of key players leave and the scouting network put to the test again and the whole cycle beginning anew.

As with all the other players we sign these days, I have not a clue about what type of a player he is.

I have to say this is particularly pleasing as it means Celtic are actually doing their job and scouting players who the rest of us haven't heard of.

Will be interesting to see what this means for other midfielders, in particular Kayal as there has been some interest it appears and if there is a chance of selling at a good price then I am sure the club will look at it. Buy cheap, sell dear. The new Celtic way.

Same here Des, But I know it's the same old story, I watched a few vids on Youtube. And i have to say he looks a decent player, He's 6'2 plays as an attacking midfielder and is really strong and physical, Can see him doing well in the S.P.L.... ;)

Q.P.R have been taking us down to the wire on this deal, So all can't be bad. He's highly rated in the Australian International squad as well. But it's like everything else, Is he going to get a fair share of games for us... :???: Lenny see's him as a replacement for Ki.... ;)

Providing we don't lose anyone this window who is in and about the 1st team, I can't see us needing anyone with the exception of a leftback. The squad is very balanced at the moment and if anything there are probably too many strikers, with Hooper, Samaras, Watt, Lassad, Bangura, Stokes and Miku all in the mix.

I would not like to see Kayal leave, nor any of that current midfield mix as I think they are all strong enough and decent young players who should have another couple of years in the jersey at least if Lennon can keep them.

The squad can hurt teams in the CL, especially with Samaras, Hooper and Forrest, all of whom carry qualities that can hurt any side they come up against, and the midfield are no pushovers. As for the defence, I think the centre half pairing of Wilson and Ambrose looks capable and when you throw Rogne (who is young but talented despite some of his errors) and the versatile Mulgrew in there, then you have a decent list of personnel.

The right fullback role is very strong with Lustig and Matthews both very competent.

As for the leftback. :nervous: Any side who has prepared will have a player in an advanced position up against Izaguirre all night as his positional play is so suspect. He is the one player who, thanks to injuries and no small amount of hype after his first season has not gone on to develop his game further.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed that the club have rejected a bid from Norwich City for striker Gary Hooper.

The Canaries were reported to have made a £5m bid for Hooper on Thursday, with Lennon revealing on Friday the offer had been turned down.

Lennon said: “There has been a bid. We are very disappointed it has been made public knowledge. We do our business as privately as possible.

“We don’t want any of our top players going, and Gary comes into that bracket.”

However, Lennon is bracing himself for a second bid from Chris Hughton.

“We had discussions with his representatives this morning and we are waiting to hear back from them.

“Our case is simple - you are not going. He has a year and a half on his contract and he’s a Celtic player.”

5mill......   What planet are they on.....

He's super Hooper and he's here to stay.
