Not interested in the Villareal game that much to be honest. More important we pick up three points. Hopefully that debacle at Easter Road is just a blip, but we will face a jam tart side hell bent on making it a double. Having had a good first half against his old team, I felt Brown fell away a bit and that coincided with Hibs getting control of the result. We panicked and threw the kitchen sink, when holding back may well have brought an equaliser. I`m miffed at WGS`s persistance with players who look jaded. Loovens looks like he`s Cardiff material at the moment and Sheridan looks like he`s a Reserve team player again. I hope Barry Robson is back, because we miss his fight and tenacity. Boruc (still the best we have and to drop him would be suicidal) Hinkel Caldwell Mick Wilson Naka Brown Hartley Robson Samaras McGeadie Subs Maloney, Sheridan, McDonald, Brown, Loovens I knowhe won`t play Aiden and it`s likely McDonald will start, but things need a shake up. Aiden should be in the team for his direct running if nothing else. First man on the sheet would be Naka. |

This game will decide where we will finish this season IMO. This weekends fixtures is a biggy. This game and the huns against Dundee Hibs will prove to be vital. Totally agree about Naka too BTW. We will continue to struggle though if the ginger frodo continues with his bizarre line ups. Get Naka in. Get Caldwell back in defense. And get brown back in the middle of the park. And if Aiden is fit get him in for Maloney. Samaras in for Sheridan, who should still be playing with the youths IMO. Where is Hutchinson BTW? |

Back to the real stuff again, and for the rest of the season. This will be a tough one I think. Their new manager has them playing well and they certainly are not short of confidence so we should be in for a tight one tomorrow. Hopefully we can blow them away from the start, which should be enough to see us through, but they have a very solid look about them at the moment. In Kingston, they have one of the best midfielders in the country at the moment, full of running and at the top of his game. Often wondered why we didn't take a look at this guy in our own transfer targets. Good engine on him and a willing runner. Needs to get his head right though.Midfield will be the key again and they will play with possibly two holding midfielders so we will need to be wise to how we set up against them. They have some pace on the wing with the lad Driver so Hinkel will have to be careful as well. I only hope that WGS goes with a good central midfield pairing, on current form, Hartley and Brown and Naka and McGeady wide, with Maloney and tall striker with presence (by default Samaras at the minute) up front. Caldwell back at centre half. Same team that beat Villareal should do the trick in other words. Three points required, in the run in to the 27th I am not too fussed how we get them, need to keep the pressure up on that lot as they are very close to breaking point themselves in terms of confidence. The psychological advantage of winning 3 in a row? So many players in their side won't know what it takes to win a league. Longer that continues, the harder it is for them. |

This time last week we were seven clear. Now we are the architects of our own failure. We need to get our heads right and let Dundee Utd worry about themselves. Would not like to go to Castle Greyskull one point ahead. |

Outclassed so far today. Tactical masterclass from Laszlo, WGS take note. That said, their goal was clearly offside, thought the defence played the line well there. These things get given though. Here is the big problem, trying to change into a shape that will allow us to actually create something. Can't think of a single shot we have had this far, and their tactic of using Driver's pace seems to be doing the trick time after time. For me, a start will be moving the ball quicker in midfield. Games like this we could do with a Crosas (fit and on from the start) playing that central role as opposed to Hartley who still takes one or two touches too many, allowing their side to get back into position. Need to increase the tempo second half and disaster will, hopefully, be averted and we can all smile about a six point lead.

exactly des....no shots on goal as far as I can remember why isn't a player like hutchinson - who's scoring prolifically for the reserves - not even on the bench? |
