i wonder what the basis of any arguement about this will be
will it be one of joy or will it be that at the end of the season we will get nothing for him

Really pleased to hear he is staying on. Hope they offer him a new deal and he stays a couple more years as well. The guy is at the heart of everything good we do in an attacking sense and has added to his game so well by learning how to dig in as well.

This money argument is increasingly bizarre. "We" don't get any money for him. The board get it and then find excuses not to buy in more quality (credit crunch, global slowdown, small league etc etc). Cue signing from domestic football who can't control a ball and make a simple, effective 5 yard pass.

I'd rather have the player than the money, that is for sure. :thumbs.up:

Going to be painful to watch the lack of creativity on the park when he is gone. :yikes:

I am aware of that tiger, just saying that it is £3m that will not be seen by the manager anyway, so what is the point?

so its win win fir the biscuit tin(whit a poet :D )
if they got say 3 million and didnt hand it over for transfers then theyd be in the firing line this way theyve not got any money but have retained the player till the end of the season so they come out whiter than white

They can spin it any way they like. Persuading some of us of their utter lack of ambition is another thing altogether though.

Question that they need to step up to answer when it comes down to it.

Everyone does their bit, the manager stretches himself to his limit, the players give their all, the fans sing their hearts out and continue to buy all sorts of tat that the club produce. Do the board lead as they should? Are they even accountable when it comes down to it?

Spin does not equal substance.

No use having money and nothing to spend it on.

Make it £10m in case we have an almighty disaster and lose out on the Group Stage CL and you have a deal. ;)

I`m not biased. I don`t care who beats Rangers
