Let`s get torn into this shower of rancid dung.

I used to like them when I was younger, but they have moved the goalposts and are no team of the people imo.

Celtic 2 v Man Utd 2

Boruc

Hinkel Mick Caldwell Wilson

McGeadie Brown Hartley Robson Maloney

McDonald

I thought we lost the midfield battle in the second half last time and if we flood the area we may have the chance to break forward.
Time for hard tackles and defending, and hopefully we won`t cross passes again with them for ten years or so. Get`s boring imo.

Put down 2-2, but hoping we can sneak a 95th minute winner to send the vermin home sick.
I`m not biased. I don`t care who beats Rangers

It is up to us, to everyone at Celtic Park, to build up our own legends. We don’t want to live with history, to be compared with legends from the past. We must make new legends."

agree that's the team he'll probaby play Blair - tho if Naka is fit I'd expect to see either Maloney or McGeady relegated to the bench

I'd be fairly happy with a point from this game tbh

...and if we get any penalties let Artur bang one in! :celtic:

Quote:

Lennox urges fans to rouse Celtic

Bobby Lennox is optimistic that his former team Celtic can take
something from Wednesday's Champions League match against
            Manchester United in Glasgow.

Ahead of the Group E game, former Celtic and Scotland winger Lennox
said: "At Celtic Park, we have a chance against anyone in the world.

"We have the best support in the world and, on Wednesday, they have
to support the team from start to finish.

"This is probably the best United team ever, but you always have a
            chance."

Lennox, who scored 273 goals for Celtic, admitted that a "huge gulf"
exists between the champions of the Scottish and English Premier
            Leagues.

However, he believes that, despite the 3-0 defeat inflicted on
Gordon Strachan's men by United at Old Trafford two weeks ago, the
            players should not lose heart.

Blackburn manager Paul Ince described that encounter as "men against
boys", but Lennox takes a dim view of that comparison.

"A lot of English teams go to Old Trafford and don't do too well. I
thought that was a strange quote. Who wins at Old Trafford?" said
            Lennox.

Lennox was speaking at Hampden, where he and former Celtic and
Manchester United midfielder Paddy Crerand were helping to launch
the new Scottish Football Hall of Fame.

Lennox assesses Celtic's chances against Manchester UnitedCrerand
was less optimistic about the SPL champions' chances against a side
that can call on the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Wayne Rooney and
            Carlos Tevez.

The 1968 European Cup winner said: "United have Berbatov and Rooney
at £60m and Tevez comes on as sub, another £30m.

"You can't compete with that. There is a massive gulf because of the
money. Scottish football doesn't get the money from television that
English football gets. There is no chance of competing."

But Crerand offered some hope to the home support.

"Celtic have to get into their faces, have a go at them," he said.

"I came up here two years ago and everyone thought, 'United are
            going to win this game'.

"They didn't, because of the support and the players' attitude. It's
going to be a very difficult game for United.

"What a lot of people up here don't realise is, if you look at Alex
Ferguson, what is the most important game for them this week? They
play Arsenal at 12.45pm on Saturday.

"That's a big game for United, against Arsenal at the Emirates
Stadium. So what team is he going to play? The manager has got to
take into consideration what is more important."

United are tied with Villarreal at the top of Group E.

"United are going to qualify, but do they want to qualify as winners
of the section, because they will probably get an easier draw in the
            next round?" Crerand added.

Greetin Face Neville out ! :cheer: A sly attempt at a footballer imo. Would be better if he kept his fizzog out of the camera lens.

from the Evening Times .....can't really see strachan starting him myself, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been surprised by a team selection!

Surprise as Celt Cillian gets call
by Ronnie Cully

CELTIC boss Gordon Strachan is set to take a huge gamble on rookie striker Cillian Sheridan against Manchester United tonight in an attempt to keep his side hopes of progressing in Europe high.

The 19-year-old is in line to be handed his big chance against the current European champions as a partner for Scott McDonald in attack.

Sheridan is fully aware of the size of the task after coming on for the final 12 minutes when Celtic lost 3-0 at Old Trafford two weeks ago.

In the domestic games since then he has impressed Strachan with his improving maturity.

And, though the manager was concerned about throwing him in from the start in Manchester for fear it might set back his progress, backed by a full Celtic Park the stage appears set for Sheridan to seize his big moment.

With Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Georgios Samaras, Chris Killen and Glenn Loovens all out injured, Strachan is determined to keep as much height in his side as possible, and this has strengthened Sheridan's claims for a place.

The teenager - who missed two thirds of last season with a groin muscle injury - has been fast-tracked to the first team and has trained with them almost since the day he arrived at the club fresh from playing on public parks in Ireland under two years ago.

He has the confidence of his team-mates, and skipper Stephen McManus said: "Cillian has missed a lot of football through injury in recent years and I don't even think he has ever played 10 consecutive games.

"But he has been terrific for us and scored a good goal against Hibs.

"At 19 he has got a big future. Cillian will be a handful for any defence.

"Scott McDonald, as the more senior striker, has also played his part. But I think we have all chipped in to make sure the forwards who are injured aren't missed too much."

McManus knows Sheridan will be nervous going into such an important match, with Celtic's dreams of making it to the last 16 of the Champions League for a third consecutive year on the line.

But he is assuring the youngster that everyone in the home dressing room will feel the same.

The skipper - making his 21st Champions League appearance - said: "I don't think it's a question of getting used to these games because you still get really excited as the match approaches.

"Everyone feels nervous to a degree. But that only comes because you know how big the occasion is going to be. It's a massive match and I'm sure the supporters will get right behind us.

"We know what is at stake and we will be going all out to get a good result."

Really want to see a lot of effort tonight and a belief in us winning.

I really didn't like the attitude (in public at any rate) shown by players and management both before and after the game. This "they are multimillionaires and have more money than us" thing is not what I want to hear from anyone involved with Celtic. It is a big responsibility and honour to pull on the shirt and I believe the players and management should act it. Comes from the top though.

If we lose a game because we are outplayed, fair enough, be it Man Utd or Cowdenbeath, but for us to be defeatist before the game is just self damaging.

Go on out there and give it your best.

2-1 Celtic.
