Let`s see who is standing for selection after Manure......

:oldie:

My team selction to follow, but just a little side note; I actually prefer the SPL to the CL. I know the prestige, but we are kidding ourselves on at times imo.
Back to basics for me and what will always be my preferred goal, the league flag. :cup:

Blair, you get earlier every week with new match threads.

Still tonight to worry about, things might not be as bad as we fear. Nothing to lose.

I get so excited Des. Basically I`ve written tonight off mate, and am already thinking of how to pummel Riordan`s Rowdies.

F@ck Manure and their "Are you R..... in disguise". Hope that comes back to haunt them cause I`d love to hear CP in full cry singing " Are you City in disgusie". Dirty Bestards!

Back to the reality for us. Let`s build up a head of steam that tilts full spedd in two weeks time for the return leg.

Boruc
Wilson
Anyone
Mick
Caldwell
Brown
Robson
Hartley
Naka
McGeadie
Maloney

Subs Caddis, M Brown, Loovens, Sheridan, McGowan (what happened to this bhoy Gordon after all the pre-season use?) :hmmm:

Got us for 3-0 I think Jinty Maloney, Aiden, Naka

We will lose this one, with Riordan inevitably scoring the winner.

He should never have been sold and Strachan treated him like a dug. He was always going to come back to haunt us.

1-0 or 2-1 to the team that did everything first.

Nah, I am just a miserable kant. :D

Honestly though, with the injuries and whatnot, plus the inevitable lag after a midweek European game, a game like this is always a potential banana skin.

Think we'll struggle through the game. But then that is the norm under Strachan ain't it? :)

Really don't knonw what we are going to up front for this one, Jones and Bamba are giants and will mop up any inexplicable long balls we play to McDonald. I think he'll play Sheridan up front with Skippy in his usual 4-4-2. Not entirely happy with that as I think he seems to have as much composure as Bambi on ice. Would prefer to see Hutchinson.

Re Riordan, will definately score. Why we didnt accept Burnely's money and chose to give him away to Hibs I'll never know but then again I never played at the highest level.

Expect to see

Boruc
Wilson Loovens Mick Naylor
Naka Brown Caldwell McGeady
McDonald Sheridan

He's been back for a while, on bench last night and played and scored against Derry last week.

I think we have been quite good in games right after the European ones, so hope we will be fine this time round as well.

The one thing I get the genuine sense of is that we have looked hungry in the SPL at least and I think this will continue with the game against Hibs. The question of personnel is a real problem as McDonald up front on his own doesn't work in Inverness, Glasgow, or Manchester, the lad simply does not have the ability to play that role.

Keep saying that for it to work he either needs the athleticism to work the channels or the close control to hold the ball up and this season he has neither. His hunger for working the channels seems to have gone by the wayside and his close control was always exceptionally dodgy, so nothing new there. Young players will do this.

Hutchinson for me, simply by virtue of the fact that he has a bit of strength and pace about him and Sheridan is another striker who certainly needs a strike partner.

Bit of hunger and the will to prove a point and we will be fine Saturday. :thumbs.up:

Seen Hibs twice this season and as long as they try to attack us, we will murder them on the break.
