Barcelona full-back Sylvinho admits he would be 'very excited' by the prospect of a move to Celtic. Sylvinho has struggled to secure regular football this season and has been linked with a January switch to the SPL champions. The Brazilian is out of contract at the end of the season and is waiting to see whether Celtic will make a firm offer. "If there was an official offer, and we could agree terms, then I would be very, very excited about a move to Glasgow," the former Arsenal defender told the Scottish Mail on Sunday. "If there are people at Celtic who think well of me as a footballer, then I'm pleased. "I still have a really good relationship with Barcelona and I love it here. "But I have still got a lot to offer in football terms on the pitch, not just as a squad member. "Let's just wait and see what happens." |

Presumably that means once he no longer has anything to offer as a footballer, he'd fancy a short term, financially rewarding stay in Glasgow. Not sure on this one myself. The positive is he is an actual genuine, real left back. The negative is that it would be very short term and his age. Maybe for one season I suppose. Still rather a more long term solution to the problem. |

Flattering to say the least, but I agree with henke, not the long term solution and probably out of our wage structure as well so a non starter from that point of view. Not asking for the world here, just a leftback in his mid-20s who is reasonably experienced and naturally left footed, with decent pace on him. |
