I'd take him. :ph43r:

Never happen obviously, as it would require spending money and matching wages.

Last four seasons (2 with Birmingham City, 2 with Wigan):

140 appearances, 27 goals. Only managed 3 last season. OK, maybe these teams aren't scoring many as a whole but still...

As silly as this is gonna sound, I wouldn't sign him for his goals. :D

He is a major physical presence, which we don't have. At all. Not one player. Well, apart from Bobo.

He is a striker and they have to score goals. I agree he has pace and is strong, but with the chances strikers at Celtic get, you would expect him to put away 20 at least a season. Not sure he can do that on a consistent basis.

Perhaps he could with us, but he will come with huge wage demands and with the current impatience with all members of the playing staff, I fear his confidence would be shot in all of 10 minutes.

I agree we need someone strong and pacey up there, but then we need that throughout the side. Start with a left back. :thumbs.up:

Chris Sutton wasn't the biggest goalscorer but I'd have him in the team any day of the week over Jan or Skippy. IMO we do not need 2 strikers to be getting 20 goals a season each but strikers that will bring others into play and help us get goals from other areas of the pitch. Right now we're getting goals from the strikers and nobody else.

Exactly along the same lines I was thinking mate. :thumbs.up:

The guy would be brilliant up here. A potential cult figure. And he would compliment and bring a lot more out of the likes of McDonald and Samaras and even the midfield, than JVoH.

I agree with this, but was one of the most intelligent footballers of his generation. I don't think Heskey has the same ability by a long shot. Sure he can do some things very well but an all round, beautifully crafted game like Sutton had? Not a chance, IMO.

Sutton also played at a time when there was plenty of patience about the place for any Celtic player. There is no such luxury this time and if Heskey were to arrive to a team that has won three in a row then the expectation would be sky high. Apples and oranges for me. :thumbs.up:

Cappello, manger of the greatest team in the world rates him!! So he must have a bit about him!!

I'd snap him up on a 6month mega money deal if we are still in contention in Europe/SPl in January!

Good to be back!

He certainly will fit into the "last minute panic when it is too late to do anything for the group stages of the CL" buy that we seem to employ as a tactic these days.

Of course, will all depend on how we sit in the league by then.

Oh the joys of watching Celtic's blundering signing policy.
