Hoping I don't need to go as far as replacing the entire groupset :D

Right, cassette replaced thanks to some help from the guys at South Down Bikes. My cassette and Park Tools turned up today and I thought I would give this job a go this afternoon. Found the chain whip tool a bit awkward but the FR5 lock ring removal tool was rubbish. It didn't fit deeply into the cassette lock nut and combine this with it slipping inside the socket whilst trying to fit it to the cassette and the whole process was a pain. Got it all lined up and then promptly broke my 5 mins old FR5!

Off to SDB to buy another cassette tool and asked if their workshop guys would spare me 5 mins. They happily did and changed over the cassettes for me whilst giving me lots of advice. One peace of advice was the Park Tools FR5 was rubbish! So I went and changed it for a better one which also happened to be cheaper! I thought you paid extra for the Park Tools because they were better quality, obviously not.

Hats off to the guys in SDB's, they have been nothing but helpful on a number of occasions B)

A tip for the cassette remover...take the spring off the drive side of the skewer and refit skewer through the hub and remover so it can't slip out of the splines. Just remember to leave it a little loose so the lock ring can undo a half turn, then remove the skewer and undo lockring by hand :)

Spend 10 minutes hunting for the skewer spring you have kicked across the patio :)

Good tip, thanks Ollie :) The replacement lock ring removal tool I bought has built in spline to centre it and produce the same effect. This way I can remember that I left the spring on the skewer
