Hi Im riding the SDW on sat.does anyone know what the parking in Winchester is like at 5-30? Do we need to use car park to unload bikes or are the streets ok for that? Thanks

The on street parking is all permits.

Suggest that you go for the Bar End P&R last time I used it it was £2.50 for the day. then just a short ride to the start.

Also all the locals cycle the footpath section over the M3 bridge along a field edge to Chilcomb - no styles.

Sue

ps sunday parking is free

Unlucky with the timing, Trevor - we've just had one of the longest dry spells I can remember, and you choose the weekend when the rains return to do the SDW.

Mind you, I'm going to be doing about 65 miles over the downs, on Darth's bikepacking adventure, so ill be sharing your pain.
