The Vaders are doing it on friday night, A shortish spin on mainly double track suitable for shonky knees about hour and a half riding 8-10 miles doable with commuter lights if you dont have the flash ones [but at your own risk as always] nothing too techy or major trees to crash into suitable for beginners etc Start 7.30 Butts lane carpark or 7.15 at the btm of Butts lane if you want a warm up . Finish Wheatsheaf Pub for mulled wine. Food is served there but not sure when the kitchen closes If we get enough interest I will ask them to do hot dogs or something , we will be going anyway , join us if you like .I know there is a lot of riding on this week but due to the season and other constraints this is the only spare night at the moment . Cheers Darth |

All welcome! There is a bit of road work (500yards or so ) so bring a red flasher . I also have a shorter route if the weather is crap ( same route as the Wedesday Wenches use ) I havent asked the Pub about food as numbers are small |

Rick goes red if I make him flash, will that do   We 'Wednesday Wenches' (Mrs Vader and me at moment) are v good at using tools, just not that good at aligning crank arms up in the right place, or getting them back off again   - it was hilarious and still making me lol when I think about it...See you tomorrow ... |

I was Impressed that you got it back off without a crank puller I think there could be a good comedy race with every one haveing their crank arms set at 90 degrees to each other rather than the usual 180 Also not guilty of ay service issues on that bike Mr Skywalker has been riding that for the last 6 months |

That's why Octalink cranks are so ace - you can put them on 'not-quite' in line, and the poor unsuspecting victim spends about 100 yards trying to work out what's wrong with their legs - not that I'd do such a thing, of course (But I might encourage a friend to do it to his wife's bike) |

Oh, it was much less than 90 degrees - I didn't even consider angles when kicking the crannk back on the bike . Luckily the very strong man walking back to his car after dog outing, did the job of said 'crank puller' ![]() Can I say now that I never have and never will consider myself a bike mechanic :ph43r: It was bloody funny though

If you havent already experssed an interest could you post if you are are comming along Its dark up there and we dont want to miss any one! You will probably hear my wheezing first as I will be cycling up Butts lane Fairly slowly as the candles on the front of the bike blow out if I go too fast

Thanks for a great ride Mr, Mrs & Master Vader...post pub (devilishly hot) mulled wine was v.nom nom too. I think Mrs Vader did particularly well for her first night ride, especially after only a 20min turnaround after getting in from work, and did a fab job of staying awake until we left said pub at 11.45pm til next time...
