If this was a combat situation, we'd be dead by now.
This months club ride is a return to our birthplace, stanmer park and the surrounding downs.

Meeting at 1000hrs for a 1030 roll, at the sussex uni sports hall car park, we can expect some rolling downland trails to warm the legs up including some new to me followed by so much singletrack you'll puke! Featuring trails such as "Buzz lightyear", "Witches table" and "that one next to the tree!"
a possible pause at the village tea and cake shop ( after riding down " Tea and cake "! ) then more trails to marvel at!

Bring tea and cake too for the post ride food fest!

Marvel as your ride leader says for the 11th time, "im sure its this way, the leaves make it hard to tell!"

Be amazed at how much fun youre having!

see you then!

Jim.

Ace - sounds fab :)
I'll be there on the rigid alfine wunderbike. Donna will be causing herself leg trauma by dragging a massive trailer-bound toddler up a nearby hill and seeing us later for tea and cake.

Surely Donna could err borrow some military hardware from her company and cobble together some ZPM powered electric drive buggy for toddler?

Now there's an idea, could I fit an electric bike motor to the wheels of the child trailer to counteract the drag? Or fill the trailer with helium to counteract her weight?

Roll on the day I can fit a tag-along and she can do her share of the work!

Jim,

Any recommendations for a destination for me + trailer so I can meet up you part way round?

Cheers
Donna

Fraser,

Try this
- it should get you there whichever direction you are coming from (just change the start point to suit your location)

Not sure if that link will work for you, as it was built on my wife's tablet computer, and it's being temperamental tonight.

It's a no show from us I'm afraid as we have a family birthday meal that is not get-outable ...have a great one.

We are planning to be at the December ride though. @Rich - do you know yet where the ride will be pls?

@Bunnyflop

I was thinking of starting somewhere like Pevensey bay, and doing a dreary slog along the A259 towards Little Common, on knobblies (2.4" or more obviously), being buzzed by cars and lorries.

Then we'd head off onto the marshes themselves for a soggy deathmarch, to a pub, which will be closed.

How's that?

:)

I'd like to be there but you keep choosing dates that clash with cross-country races :(
This time its an even worse clash, as I'm celebrating my 57th with an off-road Duathlon at Ash Ranges on sat :o and I'm definitely going to be knnnnnnnacked after that.
