Eeeew - bunkhouse! I stayed with a bikey group at a pub in Over Stowey - I think - Alex do you remember the village and pub? Good amount of rooms and bike storage. I could look it up if needed Rich. Pubs are good!

Ashley - shame! Everyone else - I've been in touch with the Carew arms in Holcombe. Right on the doorstep of the trails, super listed building pub. They have availability for us, but as quite a nice pub its at the more expensive end. They are offering us £60 per person per night B&B if we take the place over (9 beds). I'm holding the rooms for the next 48hours or so - but need some feedback if the price is too much. Thoughts? R |

I'm ok with the cost, is it 2 nights I take it? I'd like my own room though - don't know if that can be done?

If this was a combat situation, we'd be dead by now.

£120 for the accomodation seems rather steep. Would put me out of the running I'm afraid. Over my budget. |

I was hoping for something nearer £35-40 per night budget. I'd pay £60 per night when away with the wife, but not for you lot Thanks for the research Rich...... |

All, Good news - We can get the Rose and Crown at Nether Stowey for £35 pp p night B&B. Bad news - they have 7 beds only (i.e. that's us filling the place) There's a mixture of rooms (a triple, twin, doubles) which we can draw lots/fight over/adjust payments etc I have the place held for the moment. Can you let me know if this is ok - there are B&Bs in the village too so at worst case we may have a couple of people outbased for sleeping purposes if everyone who's asked to come commits ![]() R |

Ok, sounds like a plan ( as long as I don't get the double with someone else, I am rather particular about who I share a bed with! )Some men sharing a bed (in a younger, less cynical time):

Guy - you ok to share a bed with Chadders ? ![]() (Seriously - no bed sharing needed!) Rixxer - I'll have space for 2 others (inc bikes). Will be leaving from Redhill - off road parking available at my place. Everyone else - is the Rose and Crown ok? (the owner sounds great - very laid back) Thanks R |

Rose & Crown sounds great Rich - much better value and a good base location to bike from. I had a look but couldn't find many other places that were reasonable & had twin rooms. These 'Pods' look funky/cosy but not for a group: http://www.protopage.com/moorhouse#Untitled_2/Holiday_Pods |
