Last year, a few of us rode from Stanmer, up to the hills overlooking Lewes - to watch the fireworks. Thinking of doing it again this year, so looking for a headcount. Flasks of coffee and chocolate chip cookies will be in attendance |

Well, I suppose that kind of depends on whether the Lewes folks have the same ideas about sticking to the actual dates of events as I do - hang on while I check... ..OK, I've checked It's on Monday the 5th |

Oh that's good I thought I'd touched a mirror and stepped into the "mirror, mirror" universe again (it's the place where ships sail the wrong way through the English Channel, we lost the Falklands War and left handed people drive LH drive cars.........don't ask) I may be attending (room for the Sith Hound?) |

In. For this year we definitely need a massive tarp(s) to drape over the fence to keep the wind off us. More tea, more cookies and perhaps....a camping stove to get some bangers, crusty bread and ketchup going. Oh yes. Ohhh yes. We timed it perfectly last time, we got there, settled in. Some other people thhought theyd missed it and left but we held on and were rewarded with a treat!! Was like watching a war unfold beneath us. Fires started burning in various locations. Note to self - No jumping of wet chalk this year. Jump, land, slip, faceplant, ouch. |

As bonfire night is just over 2 weeks away, I thought I'd bettter set some times and place If I remember correctly, we met at Stanmer car park or a 20:00 roll-out, arrival at the meet point by about 21:00 If everybody could try to bring a flask of hot drink, some cake and/or biscuits, some plastic sheet to sit on, lights and warm clothes, then we should be set to go. (and a large plastic sheet to drape over the fence as a windbreak) NOTE: the above times are from memory but, as I turned 50 this year, I may be mistaken, so feel free to correct me. |

Don't recall the meeting times, so i'll have to trust you on that but I do remember an approx 45min wait before the fireworks and bonfires kicked off down below. This was good chatting/banter time and Tron-Legacy bike show off time.Bring sparklers and any other pyrotechnical nonsense to run around with. Who's got a tarp for the fence? I have my orange plastic survival bag which will be coming. |

Still going ahead, as far as I'm concerned - the weather may have the final say, but we'll do our best. |

At the moment the rain is looking like it will pass through by about 1800. 6 degC with a 16mph gusting 25mph northerley. It's going to be COLD!!! Wind chill puts the temp at a feels like 1 degC |
