Won't make this one I'm afraid. Later that day I'll be on my way to learn the powers of the Force.

I have a bad back, but I'm hoping it dissappears by Sunday so I can ride. SS might not be the best idea though.

ooo - you are required by Jedi law to do a write up (with pics) for the blog. TonyS did this a while back too I recall...

have fun - I think you're in for a real experience from other reports I've read...

If this was a combat situation, we'd be dead by now.

All

Quick update on the plans for the morning.

Mike G very kindly let me know there's an organised event (Peaslake MTBO) taking place tomorrow that may impact the number of spaces available in the car park we're intending to use. Not an unusual event for the area.

It also means there maybe more people milling about on the roads - so please take care - especially in and around Peaslake (the event registration is the memorial hall, between the centre of peaslake and the car park)

We'll see how it is in the morning, and if the car park is full then we'll direct people up the hill (via Radnor Road) and park up on the top of Holmbury hill (big car park on the left)

See you tomorrow!

Cheers guys for the ride, sorry I had to leave early, had to get back to pick up daughter! Sorry for being a rolling road block, I seemed to forget how to ride a bike. Hope you enjoyed the jam tarts.

Ok, who ate all the jam tarts whilst the rest of us rode Barry's

Just kidding - there was sufficient cake for all, and very nice it was too!
Thanks for leading the ride, Rich & Donna - it certainly seemed longer than the 19 miles that my GPS shows, but it was all good stuff, with a whole load of trails that I've not seen before.

Quite a few mechanicals - including a guy doing the trailquest - but nothing we couldn't handle with a large rock and several 'foremen'

Thanks to Rob for the beers - only 1 hour and 5 minutes until curry time, and I can try them out - not that I'm counting, you understand ;)

See you all next time :)

A good (if tough) day out today. Both bike and rider are feeling a little bruised..

Thanks to Rich and Donna for the leading/sweeping and excellent tea and coffee, to all for the the general banter and good riding and fine post ride cakes. As for me, I seemed to be struggling a bit today and have a suitably embarassing Strava tracklog to match (damn slow riders on the final switchbacks of BKB...oh well)

Big thanks to Jim for the powerlink after I had foolishly wasted all mine on helping to fix Hobbz major mechanical :)

Also huge thanks to our resident master brewer Mr DuPre for the free samples of Itchen Brewerys' finest Ales B) There will be a live online forum thread testing of this later tonight...
