So did he take drugs ? I do find it hard to believe he got away with it for so long if he did . |

I guess only he really knows the truth but as you say, how can he have passed numerous tests over the years without a trace. |

If this was a combat situation, we'd be dead by now.

Innocent until proven guilty. They've tested him enough, I think he's good to go. |

Depends on what he was taking if he was taking anything, but as Jim says, innocent until proven guilty. On a purely anecdotal level from what I've heard, professional cycling has been riddled with drug improvement for years. |

Gutted if true, but I don't think it is. He is the most tested sportsperson around and in all those years they couldn't pin anything on him. Unlike many, many others who have been proven positive in recent times, e.g Contador, Miller and the guy who won Olympic gold - can't remember his name at mo! Who have been allowed back after only short bans; the latter has no remorse for his actions either. Lance must be totally downtrodden by the witch hunt that's made up a lot of his life, to now throw in the towel. Like you say only he knows the truth, but if the only evidence the testers now have is hearsay from previous team mates, who know they are probably going to get done because they have been using drugs, i.e. Leipheimer, then I think the evidence is a bit thin and a bit late! |

Ground down by the establishment? Interesting analysis here. Never failed a random or post race test so the 'non analytic positive' premise for the case is a bit like a private prosecution for speeding based on the recorded maximum speed when you go to sell your car (i.e. a third party informing on your supposed behavior). No concrete proof so 'extraordinary claims need extraordinary proof'. |

Blimey, the report is so damning and news today is v.v.sad indeed for cycling. Fingers crossed Wiggo et al don't get caught out in 10 years time for the same thing it would be doubly devastating .... |
