Okay... My normal winter riding kit on my lowerhalf is: - Padded short liner - long-john type thing - riding shorts - Leg armour. Which is fine if I'm just riding, but if I'm also commuting to uni in whatever the weather. Its not the 'coolest' looking kit is it really. I am considering these. Mainly because they are also waterproof. And for the price they look damn good for the money. And no they don't need to look 'cool' they just need to be warm and practical for all sorts of riding, including things like DH and XC |

Hi Eddy, Rick and a couple of other Muddy@rsers have had these trousers for a few winters now and from the feedback they're really good. They wash up well and are v.hardy off road so will be perfect for your commute. They also look like a slightly technical trouser so blend in quite well at the pub etc. Go for it, I don't think you'll be disappointed. |

Thanks for the reply Lisa! I have only heard good things about them! Only thing is they arent technically fully waterproof due to the lack of taped seams. But that will only be an issue in a major downpour! I'll be ordering some through Evo in a week or so

dont forget to claim your 10% discount and tell them you are a muddy@rser If you did want fully waterproof trousers then check out the Gore ones, not sure of name, but they're about 100 quid, so quite a bit more so depends how many downpours you think you're likely to get caught in to weight up the extra cost. Being Gore though, they will be v.well made a v.breathable. |

I'm special anyway, even without being a M@ I've had a look at the Gore stuff. But to be honest I don't want to blow a couple weeks wages on a set of trousers. But I do know how good the Gore stuff is and I know alot more about the tech within the their products as its all the same stuff that I'm trained on from blacks. In the long run perhaps it would be sensible to go for the Gore kit, even though I'd be looking at spending £120+ But I'd rather get a brilliant allrounder and finish my second bike off for the same amount of money! If anyone has any other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. If not, I'll go for the singletracks

I have the baggy short version of those water proof not a prob as the dry pretty quick, and dont cling If you spend too much you start to worry about ripping the kit on brambles falls etc and if it really pours down you still get wet what ever you have on |
