Couple of Spots

All, Does anyone have a preference to SDG or WTB saddles? I have been running my SDG for the last 11 years. It started off on my then Kona Lava Dome, then used it on my Cove and it's now on my Ellsworth. But it's just not supporting me? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated… |

The Bontrager saddles are definitely worth a look! Are you in Eastbourne? If so pop into evolution cycles

Hadn’t considered bontrager, will have to give that a look... Normally use Freeborns in Horsham or Chain Reaction cycles... Thanks |

I'm a big fan of WTB saddles. The WTB Devo race saddle on my marin is a bit of an aquired taste as its pretty hard but Ive got a SpeedV on my singlespeed and its the comfiest saddle I've ever used. |

If this was a combat situation, we'd be dead by now.

The Flite titanium is the comfiest saddle ever. |

I'm a WTB fan, only the 'Rocket V' though! I'm sure there is a better saddle out there it's just so expensive and tedious to try different types. One thing I know is that I'm definitley not shaped for the Fizzik Gobi - I thought that was going to do my privates some long term damage! Ahem....moving on. So subjective, if it works stick with what you have is what I say. Or in your case buy a new one, they don't last forever, after about two years use and I find they are a pain in the you know what. |

Saddles are sized Specialized Concept stores will measure you up. I have never had an uncomfortable saddle!!! Helps having a wooden arse I guess even my ridiculously minimal Toupe (sized 140!!!) didn't pain me when I did Skyline on a hardtail. Quality short padding is a help |

Thanks for all the advice. I will get my derričre measured. There are so many products on the market, but you never know how good they are until you have been in the saddle for twenty miles+.

I'm a convert to the Charge Spoon. Cheap, minimal padding but the shape must be good as it rarely feels uncomfortable. In my experience, if it feels particularly comfy the minute you sit on it, you will find its a bit soft and chaffs (sp?) after a long ride. |

The simpler the shape the better. I have tended to avoid saddles with as few ridges/grooves/slots as possible as they all present edges that can rub. The Fizik Gobi has been superb from the start, the Charge spoon looks equally as good, both very simple shapes. |
