Overlord of all Known Sheds!
I took my 06 Marin Attack Trail (affectionately known as "The Bucket") in for a new headset two weeks ago. The old one had grown loose and whilst not graunchy was not far off.

The old head races were knocked out, the old lower race was just on the verge of failing. The new lower race was offered up to the frame for a trial fit and then pushed almost home by hand. The bike mechanic went a bit quiet at this point and after an examination declared the head tube had ovalised........:( :(

After some deliberation, ATB sales (Marin UK importer) were contacted who asked for the frame to be returned for inspection.

I have to say I went home rather grumpy, not the end I wished for her, "dying" on the operating table so to speak rather than snapping after landing a 30ft huck.

Got a call from Evolution cycles today to say that my bike was ready for collection, with a brand new 2009 Wolf Ridge frame including an RP23 shock as a FOC replacement!

Top marks to Evo cyles for the fast turnaround and top marks to Marin and ATB Sales for a fantastic warranty.

Ditto to ATB sales for some no-quibble frame warranty work:

My original 2000 marin Eastpeak had a rather major frame failure back in 2003...new frame sent out within two days and bike rebuilt by Rayments at no charge.

That 2003 eastpeak died in late 2008 when, whilst checking the frame prior to selling it (it was the donor bike for the components on my On-One) I found stress cracks on the rear swingwarm...I was given a choice of a new East peak frame (slightly pointless as I already had the Mount Vision and they wouldnt supply a longer throw shock....Ming you are one jammy git for getting an RP23 for free <_< ) so I ended up with a free replacement Indian Fire Trail hardtail frame...

....that is still boxed up waiting for me to get motivated to either sell it (any takers...its £140) or to finally build up a burly-ish XC bike which would require an extremely high degree of stealth to smuggle this build past Janine
