Happy New year, I may be interested subject to the weather!!! If the weather is fine, I may also be tempted to go out playing with my new toy I purchased when bored surfing the net over Christmas. An original 1998 Yamaha R1! Will check tomorrow if your going out, haven't been out in ages! Mike |

tempted BUT I suspect that Dyzan, great God of Oncall misfortune has something special planned for me this weekend , either that or Projects will need bailing out by Maintenance at some point.

I'm very tempted, as Cabin Fever is setting in, but I'm pretty sure that I have other commitments I'll text you if I'm definitely coming - where is the meet point, and what time? |

Guys, I've been reading with interests the posts out there on other forums about the state of the trails up on Holmbury. It seems that there's still a lot of snow, and with the rains that are forecast for tomorrow the general feeling in the internetsphere is that its still not worth riding (i.e. a lot of pushing involve through thick slush!). Will keep you posted but right now I'll be staying away from Holmbury and planning an alternative route in a different location (more than likely Redhill area). R |

Update: Meet Redhill station for 8am (8:15am leave) for 20 or so miles east of Redhill trying to avoid the puddles. Return by 12 midday. A friend from work is coming out so hence early start all welcome! R |

Ok Patpend understood. For info, Swinley described earlier today as " a total waste of time" ! very slushy and hard work. TM |

Have a good ride tomorrow. Time constraints mean I'm going to be going local again. I would imagine that with all this rain* and the temperatures being about 5-7degrees the trails up at Holmbury and Leith should be clear in a few days so we should be good to go for next weekends ride ![]() * and no, I dont want to discuss mud tyres ok? |

How about tyres for sandy conditions and pine needles then? Looking at the state of my back garden everywhere will be seriously boggy this weekend. Going sponging later if I don't get called out. |

All, Well - that was an interesting MTB experience ![]() (Tony - we looked out for you but looks like you didn't make by the time we left) We went East of Redhill in the hope of avoiding some of the water. Quite a lot of ice about, and then we reached the section alongside the river. It usually looks like this. ![]() However, today it looked like this ![]() The river (usually a little brook) had completely flooded - up to a foot of water ![]() Comedy Watery video evidence clicky Other than that, a really nice sunny ride. Plenty of bikers out on the first sunny day in weeks - my friend Aaron was pleasantly surprised at the trails on offer ![]() ![]() Oh and I came off on the road - nasty icy off camber side of the road spill - a couple of grazes no lasting damage. Enjoy it out there! R |

@Rich - Sorry I set the alarm for 6:30 but on waking felt pretty 5rap so decided to give my self a rest to try and shake off the end of a cold. Looking forward to next sundays riide and hopefully it will dry out a bit more during the week. |

@Rich - glad to hear you're OK, that's quite a bit of water isn't it ! Just about to watch your video. Rick and I went out on the South Downs for a 10 miler on bridleways and it was pretty waterlogged everwhere, which made the going S L O W and I am now a very tired girl. Lovely to be out though Next week Donna and I will be riding our own little ride alongside yours, here's hoping the snow and slush on Holmbury has gone by then. @Aaron - that's a very manly pose
