Hi, unfortunately Sally is unable to lead the ride next week, which is no problem but a shame she'll be missing out on the fun :( but if people are still interested, Rick has offered to lead something local to us.

Roll call please:

I'm aiming to be there, but it will depend on work committments and the safe return of my front light (From the manufacturer.)

our internet at home is down so Rick can't reply, and may I add that it's really flippin annoying and soon Mr Tiscali will be getting a piece of my mind!

I will ask Rick tonight for ride details and let you all know tomorrow.

So can I, now that I've been on the PDH/SDH transmission taster course. OMG for once the railway has bought a seriously tasty bit of kit (though rather slow and under utilised by modern standards), 40 Gb/s anyone? though running fibre into peoples houses is fraught with risk and also the kit takes up a frame the size of a good fridge freezer!

RIDE INFO:

Meet Time: 7pm to roll at 7.30pm

Where: Bo Peep Car Park, on The Downs off A27 near Selmeston (same as last year for those who joined us) and I think there is a map in the meet points thread too.

Ride Info: Because it's been sooooo wet lately Rick's going to lead you on the open Downs in a loop approx. 10 miles. Nothing technical, some blasting fast (and possibly frosty) descents with the usual killer climb to finish

Although I won't be able to join you on the ride, I will fill the flasks so you can have a nice hot coffee when you finish. You might well be needing it.

RIDE ESSENTIALS: Lights & tinsel (on you and/or your bike) and as much xmas sillyness as you want to create, the odd group xmas carol goes down well if it takes your fancy. Humbugs need not apply ....enjoy & Merry Xmas !

Bob , proper fibre uses IR wavelength light at a power potent enough to permenantly cook the eye. Can you imagine little Timmy ripping the fibre out of the wall socket and then staring down the end.............

Don't worry, can't remember what class our lasers are, but they are safe. At least for brief periods...

Only new builds will get fibre to the premises anyway, (and the kit doesn't need a comms cab to hold it!) the rest of us will have to make do with fibre to the cab, the last hop will still be good old copper (or manky ally).

If I get home from work early enough to fix my bike, I'm hoping to come on this ride.

Ok I should be able to make this but I have a logistical and work based nightmare tomorrow that may conspire against it

I will prep the bike get all my kit ready and make sure the lights are charged up just in case ;)

anyone else wondering just what kind of laser Ming will bring?

Noisy Cricket or Doomsday Weapon....

I am SO absolutely GUTTED that i'm gonna miss this!

My bike's still locked away inside crawley Police station gathering dust, which i assume is covering all the thief's/thieves' fingerprints......apparently there's been a burglary spurt in the area and the bobby chick who found my Focus babe is tied up, no not in tinsel, hey up hey up, but tied up cracking those incidents......

If i had it, i'd be able to make it over from brighton leaving at 4.30 for sure, such a bummer!!!!!!!!

Have a great ride and be sure to look like muddy santas at the end of it!

Doesn't look like I'll be able to get away from work in time to make it to the ride - should only just be able to get to the Tilgate ride by 19:00.

Don't wait for me. :(
