This weekend a F***** Ba********** ***** ******** nicked my bike!!!!

from inside a communal bike room in the apartment block i live in, here in crawley.

It was chained up to floor bolted restraints, but the chains were cut and it was nicked!

The F%$%$%$$ would have had a surprise if he/she/they tried to ride it because it was still a makeshift single-speed in the hardest gear after the tilgate meltdown...but prob my baby was chucked into a van.

If any of you crawley guys see a silver/white Focus with white Fox forks, white seat, white grips around crawley, apprehend, kick, smash and keelhaul the user and then give me a call/msg.

So i won't be out for a while but i'll be back!

cheers

Jim,

That is a bit of a shitter. Have you got any photos? If I remember correctly does it have two bottle holder? Is it also the older style Focus graphice? I will most definately keep an eye out in Crawley and Horley. If I were you i would watch eBay like a hawk for the next couple of months.

Fingers crossed.

UPDATE:

Reported the theft this morning to the boys in blue and I prepped myself to call the insurance boys, but before i could, I got a call from the Police saying they had raided a house in Crawley this weekend and found a load of bikes inside and had promptly arrested all the c*$"s inside too.

They're 99% sure one of the bikes is mine!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

HURAAAAAAAAH

the boys in blue reckon alot of the other bikes have been nicked from the same area. flunking stupid communal bike room. from now on it's gonna be stored in my apartment, somewhere :(

cheers guys for your messages, i was really gutted yesterday to say the least :(

I'll update when i know for sure it's mine.

Good result - wish that had happened when mine was nicked, a few years back.

By the way, I'm assuming that 'c*$"s' is shorthand for 'cyclists'?

As far as I know there's been very little theft where I am but I'm defo worried about going to uni with my bike!

However great news that the bike might have been found, quickly too! Let us know if you get it back :)

Can you ask them if hey have a white kona with black Manitou forks, black hope hubs, USE sus post and mostly all black components? Distinctive dent in top tube. My old Kona, nicked from east grinstead sainsburs about 3 years ago....

Congrats on getting the bike back mate!

Just about to say how grim that was and then i read it was back. Thats good news mate.

Unfortunately these guys probably know about communal bike rooms and come round tooled up. no matter how secure your bike is they will have it. especially when it probably stands out against other bikes as a quality bike. Defo keep it in the flat from now on i would say.

@bob - i see you cracked my censorship forum friendly code. bummer....... ;)

@ollie - LOL that's totally my idea but the mrs aint too chuffed with the premise...i think it's the thought of all the tilgate mud moving in...

@bunnyflops, @Lego - ta, i'm waiting with bated breath...the office in charge of the raid, for some reason won't be around until thursday....my poor bike is in their custody until then, i suppose i'll have to go and identify it. it's all a bit silent witnessy...another resident from the block had his nicked too. so obviously the scumbags

Marzena's Focus is now pedal-less and pressed up again a wall in the little one's room (she ain't due go in there for a yr or so yet, so that's ok haha).
I've left my '99 Kona down in the bike room to guard the fort, but with bust forks, no gears; no front mech, rear mech retired i doubt it'd be much of a catch.

gonna have to dish out some serious TLC to my focus when i get it back. might even treat it to some new bits. A new chain for one and perhaps some carbon bars...

cheers everyone. i'll let you know if/when i get it back......

I suppose you'll be down the cop shop to Id the bike? If so please keep an eye out for my old kona.

Its white with black bits, has early black Hope Ti hubs (with old style flanged disk rotor mount), and Manitou forks, USE sus post with red/blue annodised clamp parts. Dent in top tube where bars spun round and DX brake lever smashed into top tube. Its a long shot though as it got nicked ages ago. :(

EDIT: Its a bit retro, most parts from early Y2K. You'll know if you see it.

Oh yeah, Ritchey SPD's, Titec stem, Black 317 rims, Red alloy nipples, Black Sapim race spokes. FSA V-Drive cranks. WTB saddle, Salsa seat post clamp. Red GT grips.

Ta.

Fingers crossed for you Retro, but don't get your hopes up...they'll be nicking them to split and sell :(

Had my old Lava Dome nicked a few years ago, except it wasn't so old back then :(

Yeah I kno... :/

Its funny, I recently bought the exact same hubs I had before. Got 'em of a guy in Holland (fellow retrobike member). Its crossed my mind that they might even be my old ones!

Anyway, sorry for the hijack, and Im happy for Jim :) See you on the trail in the new year!

all

today i got my bike back :D:D:D:D

so in the new year i'll be fixing it up and possibly buying a couple of sexy bits for it.

quite funny actualy, the PC asked me if my back wheel was detached before it was nicked, i said it was. the gears fell off in tilgate and we hacked up a single-speed. so when it was nicked, the wheel obviously fell off and the chain was too tight for a ss on a full cassette etc. the quickrelease bolt had falled off somewhere and they'd obviously got very angry with it and so they'd bent the restof the quickrelease spindle which goes thr the cassette and wedged it in. i pulled it out and the whole bolt which runs thru the cassette came out. they obviously couldn;t sell a bike with a bust back wheel.

So to all the guys in tilgate that night, you have saved my bike from being shipped to honduras or somewhere. :)

see you on the trails!
