Please tell me the answer, is fate unchangeble? even at his most powerless man's existence is never without meaning.
What was the start of all of this? When did the cogs of fate begin to turn? Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now, from deep within the flow of time. But,for certainty, back then, We loved so many, yet we hated so much,we hurt others and were hurt ourselves.... Yet even then, we ran like the wind,Whilst our laughter echoed, under the cerulean skies...

Well, let's break down why he thinks this game is extremely weird...

1. He states that CT had only three races but this game has a multitude. Also, the game is not in Guardia. First of all, CT never stated that there were only three races in the world. Second, CT did not encompass the entire world. The location of Chrono Cross is on an archipelago possibly south of Guardia and Porre, so just because some of these races didn't appear in CT doesn't mean they don't exist in the Chrono trigger world. Third, he asks where the mytics and reptites are. Well, they're technically extinct, and it's part of the CT storyline. Of course, he wasn't really paying attention because the guy in the library in Viper Manor is a Mystic and the dragons are what's left of the reptites. Correct me if I'm wrong because it has been ages since I've played.

2. Brittish, Austrailian, French, and German people? Well obviously they're not, but is it a crime to have a variety in characters based on real world races? He seems to like FF7 but you don't see him questioning why Barret and Rude are the only black people in the world or why there is a Russian general working under Shinra.

3. Solt, Peppor, and Ketchup are there for comic reasons. They're supposed to be weird.

4. A different battle system and no time travel. Not having those elements does not make the game weird. The new battle system adds a refreshing feel to the game and many people like quite enjoy the Chrono Cross battle system. As for no time traveling, it would be irrelevant to the story. Besides, Chrono Chross explores the part of the aspect of space and time that CT did not.

5. He states that the two games are not even remotely connected. Well, he either stopped playing too soon and made assumptions too early or he failed to see that the very reason for the existence of the two dimensions is because of the events in CT. There's a lot of explanation behind this and it's been too long since I've played to accurately explain this, but I'm sure there are a few places to look online for this.

6. A giant cat in clothes named Lynx is after Serge for some reason and Kidd hates him for some reason.
Lynx is a demi-human who became the way he is because of an accident that occurred to him prior to the beginning of Chrono Cross. He is after Serge because he is after Serge's ability to cross dimensions so he can obtain the frozen flame from the alternate dimension. The way he explains it, Lynx just steals Serge's body and then goes on a rampage while the real Serge is blamed. Kid hates Lynx because Lynx killed someone important to her.

7. He doesn't seem to see the reason behind Harle or whose side she's on. Well, she is actually there to manipulate the characters of the game to kill a "certain someone." She is neither on Serge or Lynx's side as long as her objective is complete. Again, correct me if my memory is wrong.

8. You recruit a multitude of strange characters. Well, does Chrono Cross really have to follow the cliche in which all party members have to be completely or nearly human? Or does he think that it is strange for such characters to exist. Well, it's a video game situated in a fantasy world. Chrono Cross is not the only game with unique characters. In other games, you see lizardmen, kobolds, moogles, talking fish, civiliations with cat ears or rabbit ears, etc.

9. "If you spent time leveling Kid up, the yolk's on you. Now you must fight 7 dragons for a reason I forget. Oh, right...it was to unlock the fort where Dark Serge is hiding."
Huh? The dragons are what remains of the reptites from CT. In the prehistoric age of CT, the reptiles were the dominant race. My memory is fuzzy, but think the Dragons' reason was party to restore that. Of course, being human, you have to stop that.

10. Weird bosses such as a robot with a chainsaw or giant jellies. You see this in every RPG, not just Chrono Cross.

Anyway, there is a lot to the plot in Chrono Cross but that doesn't make the game weird. A simple plot line with no twists makes a game boring. You don't need a to be a genius to understand the game. I've completed the game in my early teens and fully understood everything.

And I hope he doesn't think the game is bad because of bad cosplayers because there is bad cosplay of virtually every game and anime.

Well, he is entitled to his own opinion though. I'm just offering the counter-opinion.

entire story behind the Batien Kaitos games.
I still am trying to understand it  =/
And yes I love this series, & yes I am playing
through these games again just so I can
understand the plot :) So tell this person
who made that thread that maybe he needs
to play through both games just to get a feeling
for what is going on.

I have a weird feeling that this person may not
have played Chrono Trigger first. That just maybe
this person played Chrono Cross first & then Chrono
Trigger 2nd mayhap *shrugs* IDK or it could be that
maybe this person may just be a complete &

Emailing him probably won't do much though. He seems pretty set on his opinion.

I just hate seeing people so opinionated about something they know nothing about. If your going to bash something at least know what it is your talking about first. <_<
