When either Riou or Jowy dies in their duel at the game's end the survivor claims the dying person's rune uniting them. |

The name came from Japanese novel published just like Tir did for suikoden 1. The names became basically accepted, konami never gave official names to it's Hero's other then in Suikoden 3,Tactics,and both Gaiden Games. Japan is so lucky to get every kind of suikoden themed merchandise it's not funny anymore they get spoiled while the rest of the world are lucky to get anything including the games themselves. I guess we're equal to Harmonia's second class citizens, with Japan being the first class ones, unfortunately the rest of the world beyond gets the dreaded third class treatment getting next to nothing from konami. Japan is so saturated with rpg games from so many companies based there,i guess sony just hasn't clued in that the real money is everywhere else in the world. Square-Enix oviously knows that considering how successful it's rpg games are around the world. Sony likes to use numbers of simular games sold in regions if they don't add up they reject any future games from going to places figuring it isn't worth the gamble. Sony is the biggest hurdle for companies like Konami,Sony holds all the power for games on it's consoles worldwide they pick and choose who gets what games and who doesn't get them. Microsoft i'm sure does the same with it's Xbox games,as for Nintendo it mainly makes it's own games and allows very little outside game makers to provide games for any of their consoles. Very few games get to go multiplatform, because alot of them sign on as Exclusives to one console or another just to market their products. Anyway i try not to kill Jowy either just to get the best ending, everything hangs in the balance with how fast your reply time in Rockaxe Castle to Nanami is and also having all 108 stars before that point as well. When you return to your Headquarters after defeating the Beast Rune you must not enter the gathering/meeting hall you must leave the castle to meet Jowy on Tenzan Pass and make all the right replies during the duel as well. I find with all the conditions you must meet that this one is so easy to mess up compared to the other games in the series. |

Yea I know we get far less RPGs then Japan cause this is America. American gamers want FPS games. Why do you think so many FPS games for the Xbox 360 & PS3 sell so well? We are a blood lusting nation. Not many are hard core RPGers like a small amount of us are. Yea I'd love to have more RPG games. But does that mean I'll see half of what Japan gets? Heck no! This just isn't the country for it, we're all about guns & war. Why do you think half the games sold are about: guns and war? De de de. That's just the way it is. *shrugs* Yea, I have SOME Suikoden stuff. But it's all thanks to what Konami decides to GIVE to us when we decide to be loyal consumers to their series & pre-order their game early As for the whole saving Nanami? I saved her in my Suikdeon 2 file, I have done it twice actually. Don't ask me how I did it I just always seem to be able to save her *shrugs* Maybe it's the copy of Suikoden 2 that I have, maybe it's lucky! |

I know what you guys mean. I tried playing some of the Fire Emblem games that are in Japanese only...and well, you can't really get that far without knowing Japanese. The only game I have been able to play in Japanese thoroughly and beat is Brigandine Gold Edition. You know, I've never been able to get the perfect ending in S2 yet despite how many times I've played the game. Of course, I never really use a faq when I play the game and I always have a character short when I do the rockaxe scene. |

Yea, tell me about it. The first couple of times through I was short the cook you can get in the hallway. You have to basically go looking for him in the hallway & then talk to him to get him to join. I forgot to get him 2 or three times! It drove me nuts! |

Well i only beat suikoden 2 once, but i did see two of the endings, i saved jowy and i also did the ending where riou becuase a politic. Also if i become a video game maker like i want to there will be some new rpgs around, becuase i have thought up like 20 different stories with different heroes and different weapons and many characters, and most of them will be rpg's. |

Please tell me the answer, is fate unchangeble? even at his most powerless man's existence is never without meaning. What was the start of all of this? When did the cogs of fate begin to turn? Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now, from deep within the flow of time. But,for certainty, back then, We loved so many, yet we hated so much,we hurt others and were hurt ourselves.... Yet even then, we ran like the wind,Whilst our laughter echoed, under the cerulean skies... ![]()

I've played 3 times and never get happy ending because of the d**n 1,5 second rule. the first time I played I didn't collect 108 stars (because S2 is the very first Suikoden Series and still don't know too much about the rules). the 2nd time I played I've collect 108 characters before entered Rockaxe, but I killed Jowy (sorry Jowy, I didn't know I may not attack you if I wan to get the best ending... Xd <===is cruel) the 3rd times I played I've collect 108 stars before entered Rockaxe and didn't attack Jowy even a bit, but he still died. then I know about the 1,5 second rule and that's drive me crazy...;___; I stop play it for a while because of tired XD I'll play again and make sure I get a happy ending this time! |

They should make a suikoden where the hero gets the rune of beginning, it wouldn't be the same as the BS and the S runes, it could be waay before 2, 4 even. |

It would have to be after suikoden 3 in the distance future so they wouldn't have to explain how they got resealed in their seperate rune forms. Genkaku and Han Cunningham also didn't unify it,this rune i think represents the legendary sword and shield battle where it could only becoming one if the bearers fight to the death and the survivor unifies them. It could work if the bearers were natural enemies on opposite sides that way they wouldn't have second thoughts of fighting each other to finally join them together. Having buddies with it hasn't worked, the two would have to value power over their friendship otherwise. |
